I was in the school cafeteria, holding onto Clayton's sleeve as he walked through with me. I didn't recognize anyone in the whole place, it kind of scared me. A lot of people we're staring at me and Clayton, I still don't know what their problems we're, but I glared their way.
"Clayton, why are they staring?" I whispered.
"They know what happened to you. Were going to the garden to eat, so they wont bother you." Clayton reassured.
He walked me out to the garden. It was so beautiful, I think I was gaping. The sun shined upon rows of vibrant blue, green, purple, pink, you name it, flowers. There was a huge oak tree in the center, and a few benches around. My leg has been doing better, its just my ankle now so I can practically walk. Today is my first day back in about 2 weeks.
Clayton sat down, leaning against the tree for support. I copied his actions, but he helped me get down so I could sit. We sat in a comfortable silence, eating our lunch and looking at the surrounding flowers. I looked at Clayton, only to find him already looking at me. We stared at each other for a while, not breaking eye contact, and not moving one inch.
"Clayton...." I broke the silence.
"Yes, princess? " he replied, not breaking eye contact.
"Whose that? " I turned my head to an angry girl and some other girls staring at us, disgust weirdly written on their faces.
"Ugh, " he scoffed, "that's my ex and her friends. "
"Why does she look angry? " I cocked my head, looking at Clayton.
"She probably thinks I dumped her for you." he shrugged like it was no deal, but it's a big deal.
If he only knew girls better he would understand.
"Did you? " I asked, hope filled my head. I don't know why, hope just filled my head.
"Um.... " he trailed off.
Someone cleared their throat, I glanced they're way and recognized him instantly. It was the guy from my dream, the one that tried to pull me out of that murky water. I weirdly got a bad feeling. I feel hate coming from my heart. I scooted closer to Clayton. I looked at him, Clayton's jaw was tightened and his face serious and glaring at the guy in front of us.
"W-Who are you? " I stuttered.
"Tyler, Monica. " Tyler responded.
"I don't like you. I don't remember you, but I know I don't like you. " I stated trusting my gut feeling.
"I just need to talk to you. " Tyler had a small smile on his face. It seemed rather......cold.
"She said she doesn't like you, now lea-" I cut Clayton off.
"Okay." I agreed.
Clayton's jaw dropped to the floor. I put my index finger under his chin and lifted it closed. Oh, I had an idea.
I kissed Clayton on the cheek, "Go wait in the hall way, I will find you once I'm done. " I winked, hoping he would get it.
"Okay. " I think he got it.
Clayton left and I looked back at Tyler. His face was dark, like he was angry. He quickly fixed his expression. Tyler came over and sat next to me. The air felt colder around me and their were some random clouds covering the sky.
"What do you want to talk about? " I asked.
"Why did you kiss him, when I'm your boyfriend. " I frowned, I know he's not my boyfriend.
"Your not my boyfriend. " I stated.
"Yes I am. Your mine Monica. " he hissed.
"I may not remember anything, but I know for a fact that you are not my boyfriend. " I glared.
"Monica...you just don't remember me. I am your boyfriend. " Tyler stroked my cheek.
His hand was cold, it wasn't like Clayton's warm touch. I turned my face.
"Stop lying. " I stood up.
"He doesn't like you Monica! Unlike me, I love you. " he said it so openly.
"What as you talking about?! Tyler you hurt me! I will never forgive you! " I yelled.
Did I just....remember something? Tyler hurt me in freshman year. Al the memories of him came flooding back. Nothing else though.
"I can't believe you! You tried to lie to me!" I shouted.
"Because I love you." he stated it like it was a fact.
"Well, I don't even like you." I stormed off to find Clayton
I grabbed my bag first and then stormed away. Clayton was waiting in the hallway, arms crossed over his chest and foot tapping.
"Clayton! I jist remembered something!" I shouted to get his attention.
"What did you remember?" Clayton asked eagerly.
"How much I hate Tyler." I frowned. "That's it."
"Well, its a start." Clayton shrugged.
I am super surprised that he didn't ask about me kissing his cheek. It was to make sure Tyler didn't try anything. But, I liked kissing him.
The rest of the day went by and Clayton came over to my house. We spent time talking about different things.
"I finished the math homework. Science homework, English homework, Social Science homework and my Latin homework. I must be a genius because I don't really remember all the stuff we were talking about in class." I finished my rant about homework.
"Princess, have I ever said that you are a total nerd." Clayton stated like it was a fact.
And then something clicked.
