*5 1/2 years before Ein moved to Phoenix Drop*

Ein POV

My life was great, my mom and dad are the alphas of the pack, making me the alpha of the pack for school. There is a lot of competition, but I always make it clear that I'M the alpha. Not those other kids. It's also nice because I go to an all-werewolf school so I don't have to deal with meif'was or humans. Well technically, the principal is the alpha, but he never does anything for us kids, so he's just the alpha of the faculty. It's nice being the alpha and having complete power over anything. Also, the school is amazing, there are classes like Breaking Windows 101, Frisbee, and Alpha 1, 2, and 3. Right now I'm in Alpha 3, and am gonna graduate to the intermediate buildings in our school. Being alpha is actually pretty nice, the werewolves literally do just about everything for you. So I'm living the life, and it's great.

*time skip to 8th grade*

I walked around the school, proud as usual, I made a couple werewolves in my first class carry my stuff there. I got there, did the same things as usual for the rest of the day, punched a couple rebels, threw a few out windows, same old same old. When I got home for that day though, I saw my parents talking very seriously with each other. I figured it was nothing special and went along with my day until I heard my mom call my name and tell me to come. I went over to her and asked what was up.

"Ein......" she said. "There is something terrible going on that we alphas need to deal with."

"What could be so serious?" I asked. "Is it another one of those huge fights?"

"No...." she trailed off then looked at my dad and he nodded.

"What's going on then?" I asked impatiently. I would have to see if I would have to worry about this matter getting into my pack at school or not.

"Um well you see Ein....." she said. "There is something bad happening to our pack."

"Well, what is it?" I asked even more impatient.

"Werewolves have been just...dying randomly. We have no idea what's causing it." she told me.

I looked at her surprised. I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't this. "How do the dead look?" I asked.

"If you're wondering if it's a murderer, it's not. The bodies are just....dead. No signs of blood or foul play." she told me.

I was a bit disappointed. I was kind of hoping it was a murder mystery to solve. "Oh....well then we should keep an eye on the pack and see if there's a connection to the ones who are dying." I told my parents. "I'll keep an eye on the pack at school."

"So far, 5 werewolves have died randomly, and there's no connection between them as far as I know." said my dad.

"Then I'll ask around the pack at school. Maybe they know something." I said confidently.

"Well....I would rather you kept this to yourself son....." said dad.

"Yes. You should only bring it up if your dad or I think the situation turned serious enough to worry the other werewolves." said mom.

"But-" I started.

"No buts. We don't want the pack to have a panic and start leaving." said my dad firmly.

"Ok. But I'll keep an eye out and will let you know if I notice anything." I sighed.

"Good! Now remember, keep this quiet. This is an alpha matter." reminded my dad.

"Yeah ok." I said. I walked off a bit confused. What is going on? I went outside and walked around. I caught sight of a couple members of my pack at school in the middle of a fist fight. I sighed, ugh what's their excuse for fighting again????  I thought. I went over and punched both of them. "Hey stop fighting! What's the problem this time hmm?" I scolded. I looked at them. It was Ted and Gina fighting....again! Sometimes I wish they would just lay off because it's starting to get really irritating breaking them up. Sometimes I wonder how they stay friends.

"He stole my frisbee!" cried Gina.

"You were the one who put it in my bag!" yelled Ted. "I thought you were trying to give it to me!"

"No, I put it in your bag so that you would notice it and play frisbee with me!" Gina yelled back.

I punched the both of them again. "Oww..." said Gina. Ted said nothing. He just stared down.

"You guys fight too much. Next time, as your alpha, I will have to separate you two." I told them. "And if there's any more problems regarding frisbees and you two, I will take the frisbee and keep it."

"Yes Alpha..." said Gina and Ted.

"Good." I said. "Now you better not get in any more fights."

"Yes Alpha." they said.

I then turned and walked away, I almost forgot about the mysterious dead werewolves. I walked around trying to look for any evidence. I went to the place where the dead werewolves were buried. I dug them up and took a good look at them. My parents were right. There was no sign of blood or foul play. That's when I got a good look at their necks. I saw a bit of skin that had a weird color, but you had to look closely to be able to see it. My eyes widened and I ran over and got my parents. They came over and looked. They saw it too and decided to take a closer look at it. I watched as they ripped one of the dead werewolves' necks' open. They took one look inside and jumped back in horror. I went over to look but my dad blocked me.

"No son. You aren't old enough to see things like this yet." he said firmly. I turned and walked away frustrated and disappointed. I really wanted to see what it was that was killing these werewolves. It wasn't fair, I was the alpha of all the werewolves from 8th grade down in my school! I was old enough!

That's when I heard another fight within my pack start up. I groaned, why did people have to fight so much! They should just throw the other werewolf out the window. There! Problem solved with no fight! I walked over and punched all the werewolves who were fighting.

"WHO WAS THE CAUSE OF THIS???" I yelled. The werewolf group looked at me timidly. "Well? WHO WAS IT?" I asked again. "H-him...." pointed a trembling werewolf. I looked at who he was pointing to. I was about to scream at the werewolf until I saw who he was. I jumped back in surprise and quickly regained my composure. "WHAT are YOU doing IN MY PACK?" I yelled.

Even tho this probably didn't get many reads.....I hope that to those of you who did read this you are enjoying this so far. I will post once a week on Saturdays. The only reason I posted today (not on a Saturday) was so I could get this book at least 1 chapter published. So starting this weekend, this book will be continued. Thanks for reading!!!
