Ein's Backstory

The Time Has Come

Ein POV

Acacia and I knew that we had to act fast if we were to make it in time. We ran over to Acacia's house with the body. We opened it up, to find a skeleton with a hole in it's neck. Acacia dug through the hole to get the thing we needed. Her eyes widened and she kept digging.

"Did you find it yet?" I asked anxiously and impatiently.

"No! I'm not finding anything!" she cried.

It took a moment for what Acacia said to sink in. She dug around for a few more minutes with no avail. She pulled her hand out and looked at me with tears in her eyes. I didn't know whether to feel scared, or mad, or sad, or what. I just stared back at her.

"I....I'm sorry Ein," said Acacia while biting her lip to keep from crying. "It's too late."

"No.....NO! IT'S NOT TOO LATE!" I shouted.

"Ein, please calm down."

"IT CAN'T BE. THERE'S GOTTA BE ANOTHER WAY! I-"

Acacia smacked me on the cheek hard. I stopped yelling and looked at her in fury. This was all her fault.

"Ein, we tried. It's too late! I hate to say this, but we gotta break up the pack."

"You don't understand Acacia! There has to be another way! I mean, this is my pack, I have to solve this crisis!"

"EIN! I know how it feels. But we have to break up the pack before we lose everyone that's left."

"This is ALL your fault Acacia!" I then stormed out of her house and went to mine. I sat down on the porch and thought about another solution. 10 minutes later, I saw the remaining werewolves going to the center. I went up to one of them and lifted him up by his collar. "Where are you going and why?" I asked.

"T-to the center! The a-alpha female has an anouncement f-for us!" he replied, his eyes growing wide.

I dropped him, and he quickly got up and ran away. I think it was a kid from school, but I don't really remember. I stormed off to the center to see Acacia standing in the middle of a crowd. I went right up to her. "What do you think you're doing?" I growled.

"Telling everyone what we have to do in order not to die from this!" she exclaimed.

"By leaving our homes? No! We stay here!" I exclaimed back.

Her eyes turned olive green. "Ein, do you want me to bring in my vines to solve this?" she asked angrily. I just stood there fuming, saying nothing. Her eyes turned back to normal.

"The spotted bug has ailed us for a long time," Acacia called to the crowd. "We have done our best in finding a cure and surviving for as long as we could. Ein and I have made a discovery. There is a way to stop this bug from spreading and save our pack. But we found that there is none of this cure left. So we must do the next best thing in order to survive. We must break up and move to a different pack where it's safe. I'm sorry that it had to come to this. But to keep any more death's from happening, this pack will be broken up tomorrow morning. So all packing, and preparations must happen tonight. Again, I'm sorry that it had to come to this. And......I'm glad to have been your alpha female, even if it wasn't for long. You may all go pack now.

The crowd dispersed, I could hear many werewolves talking among themselves, some had burst into tears. Acacia left to go pack what she had left without a word to me. I caught sight of Molly standing there in the middle of the crowd. I looked away, it wasn't good to be spending time with the omega even if it was the last time we would ever see each other. But she ran up to me anyway.

"Ein!" she called.

"What do you want Omega?" I growled.

She ran up to me, sat down next to me, and kissed me. I was taken aback and didn't move for a few seconds. My loyalty belonged to Acacia, but my heart belonged to Molly. I broke the kiss and looked around for any other werewolves. There were none, we were alone. She looked down, "Ein, we need to talk-"

I interrupted her with a kiss. I think she was taken aback herself. Then she kissed me back. We kissed for a while, breaking only for air. Then she broke off.

"Ein......even though what you did to me is hard to forgive you for..........I still love you. I understand you were being loyal to your pack and being a 'true werewolf'.........and I wanted to make amends. I don't care that I'm a lower rank than you anymore...........I love you Ein! I don't wanna leave you....." Molly said sadly.

"I can't love you Molly," I said realizing what I had just done. "I mean, I'm the alpha and you're the omega! But, my feelings go to you and not Acacia. I'm in love with you against my will."

Molly started to cry. "I thought that maybe because we would never see each other again......." she trailed off. "No, never mind. I should've known." She held back her tears with struggle.

"Molly, I don't want to do this because it's not what a true werewolf does but..........my feelings for you are overpowering." I said.

"If you can't love me........then at least remember me........remember this.......please...." she said while letting the tears fall. She then kissed me again. I forgot about being a true werewolf and kissed her back. She then broke off and stood up. "Goodbye Ein. I hope we meet again." Molly said.

She walked off, and I then realized the reason I chose her over Acacia as alpha female. It was because I had unknowingly fallen in love with her.

"Wait Molly!" I called.

She turned her head. "The reason why I chose you over Acacia was because I had fallen in love with you! I just didn't know it at the time. I understand now." I told her.

She smiled, "Thank you." Then she walked off and I watched her go. I then went off to my house and packed my stuff. After I was all packed, I went outside to see everyone having a huge goodbye party. The party lasted until sunrise when we went in to get our bags to leave.
