Ok, I know the poem is pretty bad, but I tried. :( Please don't criticize me for the poem that I tried hard on, but kind of failed on.....idk, but I tried at least!

Ein POV

I stood in the burial area trusting the poem, hoping that it would work. Trying hard not to go into full panic mode and transform uncontrollably, I recited the poem.

Werewolves big and small in my pack,
We've been through problems,
But nothing has ever beaten our knack
To get past the bottoms,
Of cases that just can't be solved.
This case now has been hard,
But our kind has evolved,
To see in this game the card,
That has been played.
To cause this disease.
But soon we will get aid,
And be able to seize,
The answer we've been looking for.
Hopefully it's not too late,
To fight in this war,
And escape this disease that we hate,
To save us all from the impending fate that it gives us all.

I then transformed and howled at the moon. Then I stood there breathing hard for a few minutes. I hoped it would work, and that I hadn't waited too late to say it. I felt extremely bad now that I hadn't heeded that werewolf's warning beforehand. But I said the poem, so hopefully, the problem was solved. I trotted back home and immediately went to sleep. I was so tired, and I had confidence that this whole situation was over with. I woke up the next morning and went to school to see everybody whispering about. I eavesdropped on a few groups hearing the same basic thing: werewolves were dying randomly and nobody knew why. Also, three more werewolves had died randomly last night while we were all sleeping for the same reason, just dying because of what I had seen in their necks when they died. I thought I had stopped it from going on. Ok maybe it takes a day to fully work. I thought. They probably only died because when I said the poem, it was already too late for them, so maybe I saved everyone else!  I went along with the day, same old same old. I headed home when I overheard my parents talking, stone cold.

"-increasing every day," I heard my mom say. "They're just......dying, and no one can find a connection between the dead werewolves!"

"I know," said my dad. "We have to figure this out faster. At this rate, we could lose the entire pack in record time."

"Yeah. Honestly.....I don't know what to do Jake." said my mom.

That was enough for me. The poem hadn't worked. That stupid red werewolf lied to me. He said it would work! I ran into my room and started pacing. All kinds of thoughts were running through my head. Why didn't it work? What is going on? It should have worked! What are we gonna do now?  My dad then burst into my room and told me about the increasing rate of deaths each day. I decided not to tell him about the poem so I just kept the worried look on.

"What are we gonna do?" I asked him.

"Honestly Ein....I don't know." said my dad.

He then stood up and left my room. I had many thoughts running through my head. I was just so worried for my pack. Life had been so good before. Why did this have to happen?

*time skip to the next month*

We had lost about 1/8 of our pack. By that time we finally figured out how to determine whether you had the strange disease or not, so we isolated the sick to protect the remainder of the pack. The only thing was....no one from my pack at school had died from the disease since I had said the poem at the burial area. I found that kind of weird, but I thought nothing of it due to trying to help my parents out with the pack. Summer vacation was coming up in a couple weeks so that meant that the KIDS would be susceptible to getting the disease. Also, the kids would have to stay by their parents because it wouldn't be right to separate them if the parents weren't dead yet. That's when I saw a fight break out between a couple kids in my pack. I punched them and broke up the fight. But it turned out that one of the werewolves that was in the fight had his dad die from the strange disease that we had named Spot Bug. I understood and was about to walk away when I saw an adult being pushed away from the pack. I assumed she had the disease so I made sure that my pack and I kept our distance. Then she ran over to me with tears streaming down her black eyes and screamed, "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT EIN HEFTOLY! IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU, WE WOULDN'T BE IN THIS STUPID SITUATION!!!!!!" I almost punched her when I quickly remembered that technically, she wasn't a part of my pack, she was a part of my parent's pack so I couldn't punch her because I was alpha. I wasn't her alpha, so I just said calmly, "What did I do again?"

"YOU CAUSED THIS. I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT YOU DID SOMEHOW!" she yelled.

"You really think that-" I began

"THAT'S ENOUGH!" boomed my father. He looked pretty angry. He went over and punched the lady who had been screaming at me just a minute earlier. "I suggest you go join the spotted werewolves." he told her. We called werewolves with the disease spotted. Her face turned pale "Please Alpha, I meant no harm-" she pleaded. "NOW!" said my dad firmly. She glared at me and went to go walk over to join the spotted, but then she ran over to me and slapped me upside the face. I landed hard on my back. I was startled by the sudden movement, and as I was getting up, she whispered to me "You better stop this or the consequences will find you Ein." My dad grabbed her by both arms and pulled her towards him. He punched her a bunch of times and then pushed her over to the spotted. "YOU DO NOT MESS WITH MY SON!" yelled my dad to the whole pack. "Unless you want to join her?" Everyone suddenly became terrified. The black-eyed woman who was sent to the spotted sent back one last glare to me before joining them. I stared after her feeling both startled and angry. Why did this have to happen to our pack? That's when it hit me. No one in my pack at school had gotten sick, but the werewolves in my parent's pack had gotten Spot Bug. And I wasn't the Alpha of my parent's pack. Everything started to piece together, why the poem hadn't worked, and why the werewolves in my pack weren't getting sick but my parent's pack was....
