Ein POV
"I know where the first 3 are buried so I can take you there now." I said. "Come on."
"Oh, and there is a chance that it won't work seeing how much it has spread." said Acacia. "But it's worth a try."
"Oh, it better work." I growled. I gritted my teeth and ran over to the forest where my parents had shown me the bodies. Acacia followed and tried to run level with me but I stayed ahead. I was still mad about the ordeal at lunch. Soon, we got to the forest and I dug up the bodies. I wrinkled my nose and almost closed my eyes. They were rotting, and had turned an unnatural shade for a corpse. I shook my head and made it seem as the bodies didn't bother me too much. Acacia just looked bored. "Do you know which one is the first?" she asked. I shook my head. "That's ok, there's a way we can tell." She leaned over the bodies sniffing them. I almost gagged with disgust. How could she stand this?
"I'm having trouble between these 2." said Acacia pointing at the body in the middle and the left. "It's like they got it at almost the same time. Do you know what they did before they were found dead?"
I racked my brain trying to remember. All I remembered was the day that they were almost banished for fighting with members of another pack for reasons that didn't involve anyone else. That was.........a few days before they were found dead. Then it dawned on me that they must have gotten it from the other pack. "A few days before they died, I remember them almost being banished for fighting with another pack." I told Acacia.
"Oh, now I remember that," said Acacia. Then her eyes widened. "Do you know if the werewolves they were fighting had any unusual features like...........an almost invisible spot on their neck?"
I shook my head. "My parents would know."
"Well if my suspicions are correct, then they aren't the first to get it. We'll have to find this other pack and find the first for them if they're not completely wiped out." said Acacia.
"I was thinking the same thing," I said. "I can go ask my parents if they remember anything from the werewolves they were fighting."
Acacia nodded. "Make sure they don't know about our plan. This can only be between the 2 of us. Got it?"
I nodded. "Alright, let's head back."
I reburied the bodies, then we ran back to the pack. As soon as we got back, I could hear whispers, "It's the Arcane! The one from the school. You know the new alpha female." Suddenly, a crowd formed around us. I sighed, this was gonna be fun to get through. Acacia put her hands on her hips and got an annoyed look on her face. "What now?"
The crowd grew bigger and bigger. I caught sight of my dad coming to see what the commotion was all about.
"We know what you are Acacia," called a voice. "Word spreads fast. And we don't know what to do with you."
"Seriously? You know I wasn't planning on revealing myself, but times have changed." said Acacia.
"You're an Arcane werewolf," said the same voice. I couldn't quite place who it was. "They aren't supposed to exist. And now we have to do what's right."
Acacia laughed. "You guys should be thankful that I'm not destroying you all right now. You know, Arcane werewolves are the rightful Alphas of the pack."
My dad ran in, stopping right as he got past the crowd. "And what makes you think that?" he asked with a hard look.
"Well, Arcane werewolves are the powerful werewolves in existence. And I happen to be one of the most powerful Arcane werewolves in existence. Face it. I'm more powerful then you normals will ever be, and I deserve to be alpha of the pack." growled Acacia.
"Not if I can help it," I said angrily, stepping between Acacia and my dad. "This is my family you're talking about and YOU can't be alpha when you're still in high school. I'M the heir to being alpha male, and I don't have to choose you when the time comes."
"Keep out of this Ein," growled my dad. "You should already know that this isn't your fight."
"What does that matter? He can the alpha male once I become alpha! We're already the alphas of the pack at school. This'll just make us alpha of everyone! It'll make things much more controlled." laughed Acacia.
"You aren't a true werewolf! You don't deserve to be alpha." growled my dad.
"You think so?" taunted Acacia. "Then fight me so you can prove me wrong! Oh wait, I'm more powerful so you can't."
My dad growled with anger. I stepped back. As angry as I was, I couldn't help but think how well this could go in my favor. If I became alpha of the entire pack, everything would be in control! Especially with an Arcane werewolf as one of the alphas. Us werewolves can prove to the filthy humans that we are stronger and more powerful than they are. We don't deserve to be living under them unable to act by our true nature when they are obviously weaker than us. A huge grin crept up on my face. "I would LOVE to see this." I said still grinning.
"Let's go." said my dad.
