Ein's Backstory

Alpha Stress

Ein POV

I didn't know what to do. My dad refused to break up the pack even though it was too late to use the poem and he knew that. He probably didn't believe me when I talked about it, but we had to do it to save the members of the pack. I was scared that it was gonna get into the ground like that strange red werewolf had said and destroy the pack. But....maybe he was right. Maybe my dad was right. Maybe breaking the pack up wasn't such a good idea after all. Yeah, we should only do it if we absolutely have to. I lied on my bed and was deep in thought. I was so worried about the pack, but we had to keep order.

*time skip to next day*

I went to school feeling conflicted. I didn't make anyone carry my stuff today, and my punches were weaker. The alpha female Molly noticed me at around lunchtime and went over to me.

"Hey, what's up?" asked Molly

"Oh...um nothing really." I said. I gave her a weak smile.

"Uh-huh, sure," she told me giving me a light punch. "You haven't made anyone carry your stuff and you haven't been as boisterous as usual."

"Well anyone can be off at least once in a while-" I began

"THERE! You just told me you're off today." she said triumphantly. "Now, tell me what's bothering you."

I sighed. "Molly it isn't anything you should be worried about yourself."

"I am the alpha female." she told me as-a-matter-of-factly. "Your problems are my problems. Now tell me what's up."

I sighed then reluctantly told her about the strange werewolf and what he had said in the forest last night.

"Well that explains why no one in our pack here has died from it." she said. "Can.....I hear the poem?"

"Sure." I smiled. Then I recited the poem for her. "I wish it worked on my parent's pack." I sighed.

"Ein......" she said. "Don't worry about it. It was a simple mistake even though we are probably are gonna have to break up the pack. Don't let it bother you. Enjoy the time we have left here before we must leave." Then she gave me another light punch and gave me an evil grin.

"Hey!" I cried. Then I started chasing her. We ran around campus untile the bell rang. I punched her back. "Haha, I gotcha!" I laughed. "No fair! The bell rang!" she complained. Then we both smiled and kissed for a bit. Then we headed back to go to our next classes. I felt a bit better after that. After school, I went home and I saw that Molly was there. She looked like she had been crying for a while. "She wanted to talk to you about something." said my dad. I nodded then took her up to my room. "What's up?" I asked.

She looked like she was near tears. "Ein, m-my mom is spotted," she said. Tears were starting to flow from her eyes again. "She just got it today while I was at school. I was able t-to say g-goodbye to me. Then sh-she had to go to the sp-spotted area."

I was taken aback. I knew that the poem protected only our pack but I thought it also protected the families of the alphas. I felt tears coming to my eyes but I held them back to stay strong for Molly. I kissed her for a bit then pulled away. "I-I'm so sorry...." I said.

"Ein, the pack should be broken up." she said. I was taken aback but she continued. "I don't think I could take it if my dad died too. I would b-be...."

"Parentless." I finished for her. "I know, and if one of my parents got it, we would be down one alpha. But my dad won't listen to me. I tried explaining to him what the red werewolf told me but he didn't listen. He just doesn't understand."

"Does he know about the poem?" she asked. I shook my head. "Maybe if you tell him about it, it'll change his mind."

"I doubt it." I said. "This is bad....but I think the only thing that'll convince him that we need to break up the pack if my mom gets it."

"Yeah.....but you should try." she said. I looked down, I knew that it was worth a try.

"Ok." I said. "I'll try to tell him."

She nodded. "By the way can I stay here for a bit?" she asked. "I think going home would be........you know......" I nodded. "Of course." I told her. I gave her a quick kiss then I opened the door to go downstairs to tell my dad to find my parents standing outside my door. I didn't know what to think, how did I not smell them eavesdropping on us???

"Were you eavesdropping on us???" I cried. My parents looked guilty. I felt so betrayed. Now my parents knew about the red werewolf and I didn't need them to know that. "Ein we had to-" my dad started.

"Had to what? What did you need that was so important to eavesdrop over?" I asked angrily.

"Well.....we wanted to know what was up and Molly wouldn't tell us. Only that it was serious." spoke my mom.

"YEAH, WELL SHE PROBABLY HAD HER REASONS FOR NOT TELLING YOU GUYS," I yelled. "HOW MUCH DID YOU HEAR?!?!?!?"

"From when she said that she couldn't take it if her dad died." said mom.

So they heard just about everything. I was so mad. If they weren't my parents I would have given huge punches. "About breaking up the pack," spoke my dad. "What is this poem and who is this red werewolf exactly. You never told me anything except the fact that he came and it seemed like he wanted to be accepted into this pack."

I sighed angrily. I didn't want to explain it this way. I told my parents everything, from the beginning when the red werewolf first came, the poem, and what he explained to me last night in the forest. "-then I tried to explain it to you but you didn't listen." I finished. My parents were quiet. They looked taken aback. "Now will you leave us alone and not eavesdrop?" I cried. I then slammed the door in their faces. Then I sighed and looked at Molly. "I guess that's one way to tell them." she said quietly.

Srry I posted late. It was the end of the school year so my school took our computers back and I had to go digging for my old laptop. Also, my wknd has been so busy, that I haven't had any time to log on at all. So there's my explanation, thx for understanding and for reading!!!
