Dipper P.O.V

After a while, Bill and I both get dressed. I have not eaten all day and I am rather hungry. I head downstairs to the kitchen but suggest that Bill remains upstairs.

Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford do not like Bill. Actually, not liking him would be an understatement. They loathe Bill, which is understandable. Bill is sort of the reason that Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford were separated.

Bill found Ford and deceived him. He gave him knowledge and tricked him into making a doomsday device. Grunkle Stan fought with Grunkle Ford which resulted in him getting sucked into the portal. They were separated for thirty years. If Bill had never shown up then they would have never gotten torn apart the way they did. They both would try to kill Bill if they knew he was here.

Grunkle Ford would probably think that Bill is using emotions to trick me. I've thought of that myself, but this just seems too real. Or perhaps the wish the vampire granted me is making it seem real. I'm not exactly sure.

I make myself some ramen in the microwave because I'm not exactly starving. I haven't eaten all day, but I never exactly ate that much, to begin with. A cup of ramen is enough to keep me satisfied. Perhaps my body is just trying to prepare me for my "broke college kid" years.

As I take my ramen out of the kitchen I see Grunkle Stan walking out of his room. He's locking the door for some reason.

It makes question him. "What's with the lock, Grunkle Stan? I thought you didn't keep secrets anymore."

He rubs the back of his neck and looks back at the door. "I don't. I'm locking the door because I found one of my liquor bottles out this morning. I know Ford didn't drink from it because he was down in the basement all day. I'm not mad because you're young and rebellious, I just don't want you to get down this path so young," he explains softly, confusing me for a moment.

I quickly go through the events of this morning. I never had alcohol before, but Bill poured himself a glass of liquor before we went upstairs. He must have left it out on accident. We had gotten rather caught up in the moment and he never exactly went back downstairs.

I know that there is no point in denying it, so I decide to take the heat. There is no one else who could have drank it. I do not want Grunkle Stan to know of Bill's presence yet, or preferably, ever.

"You're right. I'm sorry. The bottle was up in the cupboard and I just got a little curious. I won't do it again," I lie, taking the blame for Bill so he will remain a secret.

Grunkle Stan pats my shoulder. "I'm glad you told the truth, Dipper."

I nod and sigh as I head back upstairs. I know Bill didn't mean to get me in trouble, but I hope it doesn't happen again. It's hard enough to keep him a secret.
