I levitate by the window as Dipper gets up. I've been here most of the night. It might come off as extremely creepy, but something made me feel as though I needed to make sure he was okay. That vampire seemed to really shake him up.

He runs from the room suddenly. I am unsure of what he's doing, but I am curious. If only there were some way for me to break through the protective barrier.

Only a single symbol would need to be removed for the chain to be broken. Then and only then would I be able to enter the shack to see what my Pine Tree is up to.

As I circle the property in search of a way to enter without being violently cast out, things suddenly fall into place. Old man McGucket wanders close and looks at a good sized rock that is on the property. On it is one of the symbols. I vanish into the darkness of the night and smirk to myself as I watch him mumble to himself before taking the rock. The chain has been broken.

I phase through the window in the attic and look around. It has been quite some time since I have been in the attic of the Mystery Shack. Mabel's things are no longer here, making the room more gray than usual. Although, I have always been one for darker colors, aside from yellow that is.

I glance at a shelf in the room that has several books on it; three of them are the journals. There are also a few other miscellaneous books littered along the wooden plank. I recognize some as romance novels.

'Perhaps Pine Tree is finally interested in a real romance. I hope he's finally gotten over Wendy. Killing her would not be on my list of things to do, but if it becomes necessary I will gladly do so. She has no right to steal Pine Tree's attention.'

I pick up one of the novels and skim over the back cover. It doesn't take me long to realize that these are homosexual romance novels.

'He really has moved on. Now he and I are in the same boat. My chances of winning his affection have now increased.'

I set the book back on the shelf. Something about being here satisfies me. Perhaps it is because I know that I will be closer to my Pine Tree. Although, he probably wouldn't be happy if he knew I was here.

'Pine Tree never has been one for unexpected visitors. His obsessive compulsive disorder requires him to have a detailed plan for just about anything. He has grown out of it little by little, but he would still not enjoy my presence in his room.'

I hear footsteps coming up the stairs to the attic. I vanish into the background and cannot be seen. It is Pine Tree. He is still dripping with water from the shower as he holds a towel around his waist.

'What he doesn't know can't hurt him.~'
