Scorpius

"So you're dating my cousin," Albus replied. I had just told him that I was dating Rose.

"Well, if you want to put it bluntly." However, he seemed unfazed by the news and continued to tie his tie with one hand, a piece of toast in the other. I could barely even tie mine with both. "You didn't have to wait to tell me, you know." He smiled and finished his toast, then pulled on his robes. At least I could read in peace on the Slytherin table as all the other students were listening to the Durmstrang's hearty complaints about the school. Violet Parkinson had took a particular liking to one of the boys and was listening to his every word with feigned interest. I rolled my eyes and turned back to 'Hogwarts: A History'.

We had some time left before the library closed for the day so me and Rose decided to spend it completing Arithmancy essays. When I sat down she had already laid out several complicated charts and was fumbling in her bag for another ink pot. "Hi Scorpius," she breathed absentmindedly. She seemed more uptight than usual. She was angry about Quidditch being cancelled this year due to conflicts with the Triwizard tournament. She finally looked up again and her hair looked wilder than usual. Her face softened when she saw my expression and I couldn't resist kissing her on the cheek when she said, "I didn't mean to frighten you," and laughed. We studied in silence for a while until a conversation started about the Triwizard Tournament. We went from guessing the first task to the champions, "You know that Evan kid, him and Hugo look cute together. It's like their in love but they don't realise it yet." She blushed slightly and her ears went pink. "Sounds familiar," I teased and she punched me playfully on the arm. We worked late into the night and her head eventually dropped onto my arm. I kissed her hair before gently rousing her. We left before Madam Pince could say anything.
