Scorpius

Me and Albus had abandoned our seats and went to see Rose in the hospital wing. She was propped up on her elbows whilst the matron tended to her. She didn't seem phased at all that she had been knocked out cold. In fact, she was more worried about the outcome of the match and I couldn't resist laughing. "Don't worry, we caught the snitch shortly after you were  hit," Albus answered. He poured himself a glass of water from the jug on Rose's bedside table and sipped it whilst she recounted the match. The matron made us leave shortly after as Rose was getting 'too excited'.

Me and Albus played wizard's chess in the common room too pass the time. I wasn't concentrating particularly hard as Albus' piece had viciously taken my queen, and shortly after, "Checkmate!"
After a few more brutal games, Albus stifled a yawn and said we should go to bed. "You go up," I said. I wanted to quickly visit Rose in the hospital wing one more time before going to bed. Luckily it was still early enough to go so I crossed the castle without being stopped. I pleaded with the matron to let me in but she didn't see the point as Rose was already asleep. Finally she let me in and I sat on a rickety chair by her bed. She definitely wasn't aware that she had any visitors. I reached out for her hand and entwined my fingers with hers. The walls were covered with portraits of old professors. They were either asleep in their frames or looking at me with solemn expressions on their faces. The clock showed me it was nearly time to leave. I checked that the matron was in her office before leaning down to kiss Rose lightly on the cheek.
"'Night Rose" I said quietly before heading back upstairs to bed.
