The alarm screeches in my ear.
I open an eye, reach over, pick it up and launch it across the room.
It lands with a crash.
I go back to sleep."MELISSA! ITS 8 AM! WAKE UP RIGHT NOW YOUNG LADY OR SO HELP ME GO-"
I groan
"YOU DON'T EVEN BELIEVE IN GOD MOTHER! IM COMING."
Face palming myself dozens of times, I try to make it to my bathroom with my eyes closed.
Bad idea.
Turns out I didn't know the layout of my room yet, who would've guessed? After successful putting on a decent outfit and cleaning up, I head downstairs to my mother who loves screaming my name.
And no, I checked. It's not a nightmare, my abused and pinched arm is proof."Finally, I was about to call the police. I thought you had fallen down the toi-" she pauses when she sees me.
"Oh wow. My little girl is all grown up, you look stunning Liz" Her eyes seem glassy.I roll my eyes and smile.
"Thanks mum, I love you too but you're acting like I'm going to university, not high school."
I say as I pull her in for a hug.She pays me on the back then smacks the back of my head.
I recoil
"OW! What the hell was that for?!"She puts her hands on her hips and tuts.
"You're going to be late for school missy. Hurry up and eat you're breakfast."I rub my head and scowl.
"I knew that sappy moment wasn't going to last with you."She winks
"Oh don't worry honey, you've taken after me."With breakfast finished and my bag ready, I wave goodbye to my and head to the bus stand.
What? Don't judge. In England you can only drive at 18. I'll need to apply for a license here yet.
Anyways. So, about ten minutes later the bus finally arrived. I clambered on with the bus driver giving me a scowl.
"Hurry up kid, I ain't got all day."Rude.
There was barely anyone on the bus, probably because everyone else owned cars.
I found a seat in the middle and sat on my own, no need to initiate conversations at the minute. It's wayyy too early and I never had coffee.Brad the mad bus driver, that's definitely his name, shuts the door and takes off.
Weatherton High. Here I come.
