Jayden walks with me home and we lay on the bed, him throwing a ball up and down whilst I tickle his side with my feet.

He sighs and sits up.
"I'm bored Mel, let's do something?"

I sit up and grab the ball.
"Like what?"

He smirks as a mischievous twinkle enters his eye.
"Activities. You know, like me and you having s-"

I throw the ball at him hard and hear the thud as it hits his chest.
He holds his heart and pretends to faint.
"You wound me, milady!"

I laugh and shove him off of my bed as another loud thud is heard.

My mother barges the door open
"Who died?!"

I groan.
"No one! Jayden is just clumsy!"

He scowls at me from the floor and stands up, dusting himself off.
"I apologise sincerely Mrs Ka- Dawn, it will never happen again. Please tell your daughter to refrain from being so violent next time as we make passionate-"

I throw my pillow at his head as he catches it with a bigger scowl.
All the while, my mother watches with fascination and excitement.

I cover my face.
"He's lying! Nothing happened"

My mothers face drops and she walks out with a sad, disappointed, defeated:
"Oh."

Jayden crawls back on the bed and rolls over with his palm under his chin, staring at me.
He brushes some hair out of my face.
"So," He says in a husky voice "what shall we do?"

I hold my breath as his eyes flicker back and forth between my eyes and my lips.
"How about-"

The balcony door slides open as a tall figure enters.
Jayden and I snap up, ready to team up on this mysterious person.

That is, until, the light catches on his fathomless blue eyes.

Alec.
His face stays blank as he walks a step closer.
"I'm just letting you know, I finished the English project, without you."

I slap my hand on my forehead
"Sh*t! I'm sorry I completely forgot. I've been busy."

Alec's gaze flickers to Jayden for a second before looking at me again.
"Right."

And without another word, he leaves through the balcony door.

Jayden glares at his retreating figure.

I snap my fingers in front of his face
"What's your problem?"

He sighs and looks at me softly.
"Soon. I'll explain soon."

I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion as he puts his jacket back on and drags me down the stairs.

What the hell is he on about?
.

.
Jayden and I decided to go to the park for a bit, seeing as though it's only 6PM and dinner isn't gonna be ready for a while.

We sit and chat, about nothing but everything.

I found myself leaning into him, softening up. I felt myself gazing into his eyes, enchanted with his charms with a gentle smile on my face.

I felt myself breaking.
I was losing myself in him.

What happened to the cold Melissa?

I'll never know. Jayden's warmed me up again, I still didn't know whether I liked it or not.

After having some ice cream, we headed home. Our stomachs rumbling.

A lone figure stood on the other side of the road.
Cloaked in black, just staring.
Judging from where I was stood, I would say it had the shape of a man, but who knows?
Jayden saw me hesitate and paused to look in the direction of my eyes.

His whole face froze and his body tensed as if I had cut him.

He gripped my hand and swore profusely before dragging me, sprinting back to my house.
"Stop! Jayden! What the hell?!"

He didn't glance at me but carried on running for our lives.
"Jayden let go of me!"

He frowns and scoops me off of my feet, sprinting faster.

When we reached my house, he slammed the door and made sure it was locked before dragging me up the stairs and locking us in my bedroom.

I snatch my hand back and glare at him.
"What the hell is going on?" I demand

He grips his hair in frustration and paces.
"I don't know what to do" he mutters to himself
"I can't tell you anything Mel." He looks at me apologetically.
"I can't, I can't put you in danger like that."

I stride towards him and reach up to cup his face in my hands. I make him look at me.
"What's going on Jayden?! You can't just- just sprint like Lucifer himself was chasing after us and not tell me anything!" I yell.

He pulls me into a hug, stroking the back of my head.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Mel. I've ruined your life. I've wrecked everything. I'm sorry, please forgive me-"

I hug him back just as fiercely and hold him as a shiver racks his body.
"It's okay. Just tell me what the hell is going on."

He pulls back and stares at me before staring at the balcony and groaning.
"I can't believe I'm going to say this but- I need him. I need Alec, F*CK! F*ck.." he shakes his head and slowly walks towards the glass doors.

I see him leave as I sag and sit down on my bed, repeating the events of today over and over again, like a broken record. It was no use, I still couldn't figure out, for the life in me, what was happening.

I sat with my head in my hands for what felt like hours before I heard the glass door smoothly sliding open again and 2 pairs of footsteps padding on my bedroom floor.

Slowly, I look up to be met with those blue eyes I'm so familiar with.

Alec.
