I wake up to someone massaging my hip and it felt like bliss. My eyes slowly open, adjusting to the light, damn, I forgot to shut the balcony doors last night.I look down and see my legs entangled with Jayden's and my head on his chest.
I look up to see him staring at me, he brushes my hair out of my face and smiles, let's be clear, he doesn't smirk, he smiles. A genuine, beautiful, heart wrenching smile.
That is, until, my door is flung open.
"Melissa! Look at the time! You're going-"
My mother stops mid sentence and stares at me and Jayden, mouth wide open.
"Oh.. my.. god.."I freeze.
"You don't believe in god?" I say timidly, my voice 3 octaves higher.I see Jayden also turn pale in the corner of my eyes as his whole body stiffens.
My mother doesn't say anything, she just reaches into her pocket and puts something in her fist before flinging it at me and running down the stairs like her hair was on fire.
I stare at the door and then at Jayden before slowly looking down at the thing that hit my chest.
A condom.
My whole face heats with embarrassment.
"Oh my f*cking god. It's final, I have the worst mum ever." I say, humiliated as Jayden is sent into hysterical fits of laughter.
I punch his chest softly and scowl.
"It's not funny you doofus! It's official! My mother is trying to ruin my life."Jayden doesn't say anything, and as I lock myself in my bathroom, his joyful laughter echoes across the rooms. I smile.
After brushing my teeth, I finally have restored enough confidence and dignity as much as I could muster to walk into my room.
I see Jayden walking around, examining everything as I awkwardly push my hands into my pockets and shrug.
"There's nothing that interesting, I'm quite a boring person to be honest."He stops and turns to look at me with a soft smile on his face.
"Oh I beg to differ."I awkwardly shuffle my feet and point to the bathroom.
"So.. there's a toothbrush in there, the cabinet on the bottom right hand side."He grins and walks past me, brushing purposefully. I feel my cheeks heat slightly as I try and play it off.
"Go brush your teeth, smelly."An absolute lie, I need to ask him his secrets one day. His breath smelt like mints, no hint of morning breath.
The bathroom door locks and I sit on my bed, expelling a huge sigh.
What am I going to do with him?
