Chapter Four
Today, I thankfully get to get away from Joe and Oli; leaving all my troubles behind and hopefully pushing that to the back of my mind so I can have fun today. I've only briefly met Dan and Phil, at events or other things YouTube related. And sometimes, at others parties but knowing them, what I know from their videos anyway; they always find a corner to hide in being the anti-social people they are. I'm heading over to their place today to collab with each one of them. One video for Dan's channel, one for Phil's and one for mine. I don't know what the plan is for their videos but I have put together some kind of idea for mine. I was rummaging through the randomness of the internet one early 3 am as my mind was being bombarded by the thoughts of Joe and Oli, like it has been for a few weeks now. I ended up finding this weird test researching how people's minds are alike and knowing a little about them, they seem to be very similar. Soon, I'm in their flat and they're greeting me with their friendly smiles and even a hug from Phil. We end up chatting for an hour, completely abandoning our aim of today so we get straight to it. Heading to Phil's room first, he sets up the camera, lights and all the other little things essentials to filming. He ended up choosing to do a reacting video which was so much fun, I think I cried all of my makeup off from laughing. It was actually a quick one to film which makes it so we have a little more daylight to film some more. We film Dan's video next which is us playing some game on the internet. And then it comes to my video, we film it in Dan's room. I kept it a surprise until the video...
"Hey, everyone! It's Y/N but not on my own today, I'm joined with these two." I grin, Dan waves awkwardly and Phil gives a confident smile.
"Hi, guys!" He says to the camera.
"So you guys don't know what we're doing yet."
"No. I'm extremely concerned," Dan tells me, crossing his arms.
"Don't be too scared!" I smile. "We're only doing an online survey about how both your brains are alike."
"What?!" Phil says, looking at the laptop in front of me with the test loaded up.
"How dare you use us like this?" I laugh at Dan's reaction. The video turned out to be really fun to film. They are actually very similar according to the test. By the time we've packed up, it's dark so I start making my way home.
I unlock the white door to my flat, entering into the living room and kitchen, turning on the light to brighten up the dim room. My heart stops for a beat and my feet leave the ground when I see Joe sat down on the sofa.
"What are you doing here?" Are the first words possible of leaving my lips.
"I had to see you." He says, standing up and coming closer to me. His eyes are red as if he's been crying, and their vibrant blue has turned to an icy grey, emotionless.
"Why now?" I ask nervously.
"You just haven't left my mind." I stare at him for a while after that, for some reason I feel this sudden desperation to kiss him. I've missed his lips on mine. So, I give into my temptation and find my our lips are soon connected.
BUZZ! BUZZ! BUZZ!
I groan, turning off the alarm, opening my eyes and turning to cuddle Joe. Just like I would when we were together. But my arm only swings onto the empty side of a bed. He's not there. He never was. It was a dream.
