Chapter Ten - Choji's Episode

Guy Sensei's group, (Me, Hinata, Shikamaru, Choji), trail behind Temari who is giving us a tour around the Sand Village. The other groups went off with either Kankuro or Gaara.

"Well right up there in that building is where the Kazekage works, just like your Hokage Mansion" Temari points a finger at a tall sandy coloured circular building. Temari is standing in front of us still holding her massive fan, dragging her feet across the sand like she couldn't care less and playing with her fan, waving it side to side. From behind I can see she has her sandy coloured hair in four ponytails, her hair is quite short as the ponytails are spiky.

 Everywhere I look I can see buildings all the same sandy colour. As I walk sand blows around my face and skin, I have to squint as to not get the sand in my eyes. The terrain here is so different to the Leaf Village. I look at the ground we are leaving neat footprints in the sand as we walk. The heat is almost unbearable to me but Temari looks so comfortable and it doesn't look as though the sand is irritating her at all. To me though its a different story. The sand is scratching against my skin.

All around there's children, adults, the elderly getting on with there daily lives. Adults are shopping and kids are playing games screaming and shouting having fun. Some babies are wailing their voices carried by the wind. I can see the setting sun...its beautiful, it takes my breath away. I could sit here all day just staring at it.

"These are some shops" Temari points out as she turns around facing us with her teal-blue eyes, there's a long line of a variety of shops,

"So guys is there anywhere in particular that you want to go visit?" Guy Sensei asks us,

"Er...excuse me, I'm sorry am I leading this tour or are you?" Temari asked sarcastically raising her eyebrows, but before Guy could respond, "I want to go buy some snacks! I need it to build up chakra" Choji says loudly. Guy looks a bit offended by what Temari said but obviously thought it wise to let it go as we are in her Village.

"Well sure fatso" Temari replies,

"Erm...You shouldn't call Choji that, he gets...offended-" I warn her, however she just looks normal not scared at all,

"What can fatso do to me? he wouldn't be able to make a scratch on me..." she says carelessly,

"Even if he did attack me, all I need to do is wave this fan once and he'd be down for sure."

"Don't be so confident you don't know Choji's strength...never underestimate your opponent." Shikamaru says. But to my surprise she just lets out a careless laugh.

"Choji calm down." I tell him. He is getting so angry, he's burning up going so red. Oh no! This is what Choji does when he gets ready for his jutsu.

"Spiky human boulder!" He screams out loud, villagers are staring at us curious as to what's going on. When Choji has a target he goes straight for it, at the moment that's Temari. Temari's standing there looking quite amused. Surprisingly the first to take action is Hinata, "Gentle fist!" she cries out but gets knocked out by Choji and gets thrown back at a building. Luckily Guy rushes to her aid hopefully lessening the damage to her.

I make eye contact with Shikamaru and both nod at each other making a silent agreement. We both run around the sides so Choji is in the middle, "Shadow possession jutsu!" he says, however misses, the black shadows wiggling out in the wrong directions. Shikamaru tries out a couple of times only to fail. Time for another way to tackle the situation. I quickly gather just enough chakra to perform a jutsu while Shikamaru distracts Choji by many attempts to perform the Shadow Possession jutsu.

I quickly make a few hand signs, "Mind Transfer Jutsu!" I scream out. I get transported into Choji's mind. Through Choji's eyes I can see people staring in bewilderment at the chaos we have made, still vexed as to what has just happened. Temari is standing there watching arms folded with a smirk on her face, probably amused that she doesn't even have to do anything. Suddenly I hear, "Shadow Possession jutsu!" Then I feel paralysed and face Shikamaru and see that there's a long black elongated shadow on the floor connecting our bodies together. He is breathing heavily, sweat on his face and the weather isn't helping either.

After that I placed my hands together to undo the Mind Transfer Jutsu, going back into my own body. I get up to face Shikamaru who gives me a hi-five, "Well that was such a drag..." he says,

"For once I agree." I say laughing but half-concerned for Choji's well being.

"Nice show you put on there, but your friend fatso looks a bit exhausted" Temari states. She's right Choji is lying down probably exhausted from using up so much chakra. Me and Shikamaru carry Choji, placing his arms on our shoulders and Temari takes us to the hotel Iruka told us to meet up.

"Well I'm sorry for making your friend there go...mental," She says trying to hold back a laugh, "Anyways here's your keys for your hotel rooms, Iruka gave them to me. See ya tomorrow!" She drops two silver keys into my hand then leaves walking away and gives us a back wave.

"You two! Everyone else is in already in their hotel room, and oh I heard about Choji's...er...episode, Hinata's fine if your wondering. You better get to bed." Iruka Sensei tells us and takes Choji with him explaining that he'll take Choji to a hotel room, we both nod and depart.

"Bye!" I pass one of the keys to Shikamaru and leave. "Thanks, bye." he replies tiredly.

I look at the silver key in the palm of my hand, there's numbers ingraved into it '12'. I search around for the number 12 door. Not 3...5...I go pass the doors until I find a door with the numbers 12 on it.

"A-Ha!" I say to myself when I stand in front of Room 12. I place the key in the door and let myself in. I don't really take in my surroundings as I feel incredibly exhausted, but I do see a comfy quilted bed. Ahhhh I just want to collapse onto it and fall asleep...But I decide not to. I take a long shower to scrub off all the grime and sweat off of me. The water is so warm which makes me want to stay in there forever. I step out the shower and dry myself off with a nice fluffy towel.

I just remembered I haven't unpacked my bags yet so I just reach in to it and grab out my PJ's. They are my dark purple top and bottoms. I slide into bed...All the events of today are replaying inside my head, what a weird day its been. The fair is tomorrow night and I can't wait!
