Chapter Two - Flash Back

Having done my usual morning routine, I'm going to leave the house.

"Bye Mum and Dad" I say,

"Bye!" Mum and Dad chorus.

I stroll out of the house, once again the sun shining brightly down as if to say good morning to me. I can see little children running around, playing. Villagers shopping in the market stalls. At this time of the morning its not very busy around here, you can only see children walking to school and villagers doing early morning shopping. Mmmm I can smell fresh bread.

The atmosphere is so relaxing, the gentle breeze blowing around me whilst the sun shines down.

I can see Hinata, Shikamaru and Choji standing in the playground, I walk up to join them.

"Hello Ino" Hinata greets,

"Hiya!" I reply.

"Hey!" Shikamaru says lazily in his monotone voice, Choji just waves at me happily. I smile back.

"Arf arf arf!" Hinata cowers away at the sound,

I crouch down and stroke him.

"Hiya there Akamaru" I say gently.

"Akamaru come here boy!" Kiba demands. I blush and try and not look at Kiba. Akamaru bounds back to his master like a good little puppy. Akamaru is so tiny which makes him so cute. With his white fluffy fur, dark grey patches on his ear and cute dark eyes.

Out of nowhere a pencil came flying through the air and hit Hinata on the cheek. I look at the direction it came from. Not a surprise.

"You baka! What do you do that for?" I say angerily,

"Hehehehe sorry it was by accident!" Naruto exclaims,

"You wont get away with this!" I answer back. Naruto runs away. What a chicken. "Are you ok Hinata?" I ask,

Hinata responds with a nod, however I know Hinata and I know she isn't fine. She looks like she's on the brim of tears. Poor Hinata. It didn't look like it would hurt...she must be upset because of something else. I'm not sure what though.

"Want some crisps?" Choji offers (wow that's really nice for Choji! Usually he would NEVER give a barbeque flavoured crisp away! I mean once he got really angry just because someone stole one crisp and demanded for our Sensei to catch the 'culprit', he must be feeling really sorry for Hinata.)

"No thanks Choji" Hinata says quietly.

"Why did you even bother asking her Choji?" Shikamaru questions raising one eyebrow,

"Well because when I have barbeque crisps it makes me feel happier!" Choji replies in a matter-of-factly-kind-of-way. I just raise my eyebrows at him and let out a laugh (that's just typical of Choji).

"You know you can talk to me about anything you want, you know? If theres anything wrong just let me know, ok?" I assure her,

She just nods again sadly. Forcing a smile on her face.

This incident reminds me of when I first became best friends with Hinata...

(Flashback) *

It was five years ago...We were all playing on the playground, running around having fun, playing ninja. Hinata and I were laughing and running around. The other children were running around too. Shikamaru was the villain with Choji, them two was chasing us all. Then all of a sudden Karin tripped Hinata over on purpose and ran away laughing, leaving Hinata sprawled on the ground crying. No one else stood up for her apart from me.

"Hey Karin what has Hinata ever done to you?" I yelled protectively,

"Hehehe sorry it was by accident!" Karin insisted, saying the exact same words that Naruto said today. I then asked Hinata whether she was ok, she replied saying that she was. However she was shaking and tears spilled out her eyes and I could see she was trying to be brave, trying to put on a smile. From that day on me and Hinata were best friends and I always stood up for her. Thats why I hate bullys especially when they pick on people for no apparent reason, always saying they do things by accident.

...(End of flashback) *

Together we all walk into the classroom silently to take our seats. Hinata still upset from the 'pencil incident'.

"Good morning class!" Iruka Sensei greets us.

"Our first lesson today is just general knowledge on chakra, could anyone tell me what chakra is?" Iruka asks,

Naruto's hand shoots straight into the air. Naruto's not that clever...is he?

"Catra is a flow of erm...something in your body..." Thought not. Naruto is scratching his head.

Sakura raises her hand, "Yes Sakura" Iruka says,

"Chakra is essential to even the most basic technique. It is moulding of the physical energy. Present in every cell of the body and the spiritual energy. It is gained through exercise and experience. Once mastered, you can perform different jutsu if you can control it proply and use it wisely" Sakura answers. Errr what a total know it all. Billboard brow!

"Well done that is absolutely correct!" Iruka Sensei says pleased.

Sakura looks smug looking for approval from Sasuke, however Sasuke looks stone-faced. Hehehe in your face billboard brow! Cha! Sakura looks terribly disappointed. Naruto looks more impressed than Sasuke.

Its lunch time now. I grab a chair and sit down, Hinata following me. I get out my bento box. I munch it down, yummy!

Hinata is eating her bento too half heartedly. Probly still effected by earlier. I can see she is picking at her food not bothered, daydreaming, being an airhead. Every one is talking around me and eating their yummy lunches. Sakura is sitting on a table with Karin probly talking about Sasuke, I can see they are staring at him giggling like little girls. Sasuke is sitting on a table full of other boys, however Sasuke doesn't seem too interested in their conversations like always.

On his table are Kiba, Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji, Lee, and Neji. Naruto is being a total idiot flicking bits of food at Akamaru with his fork and Kiba is yelling at Naruto, "Stop being such an idiot! Go flick food at someone else."

Choji is just munching his food happily minding his own business. Back at our table me and Hinata are being unusually quiet...there's just that awkward silence. I just can't wait for lunch to be over.

Brinnng...brinnng... yes its the end of the day! I sigh, I just can't wait to get home to relax.

"Class dismissed! For homework tonight I would like you guys to revise all the things we learnt today, because tomorrow you will all have a test!" Iruka explains. Everywhere I can hear moans.

Iruka's gone and everyones left the classroom. I half heartedly pack my bags ready to leave...Someone tapped me on the shoulder. I have a terrible feeling in my stomach. And I dont know why.
