Rose
After a long, steaming hot shower (Roses attempt to burn then wash away all of her humiliation), Rose slipped into a pair of pajamas—courtesy of Mira's very large wardrobe—and made her way back down to the first floor of the mansion.
Rose and Mira decided to order pizza for a 'late dinner', as Mira put it, but Rose knew it was just her way of getting Rose to drown her sorrows in the greasiest food known to man. It worked out well though, since they were both hungry but neither of them were in the mood to cook anything and they didn't want to disturb the cooks for just the two of them. Knowing her family was going to end up stealing some when they got there, Mira ended up ordering three large pizzas, along with breadsticks and sodas.
After sitting on the couch and listening to Rose as she recapped the story of the night, Mira ran upstairs to shower quick, leaving Rose with a one-hundred-dollar bill and instructions to use the rest as the delivery guy's tip. That's one lucky dude.
Mira listened to every word of Roses story, not even flinching when Rose told her the part about dancing with Damian. Instead, Mira just nodded her head and held back a smile, almost as if that didn't surprise her. Rose tried not to let that bother her, ignoring her own thoughts when they told her Mira was probably used to watching her brother dance with random girls.
As Rose explained it all, she only confused herself more. She couldn't even begin to explain to herself how she ended up dancing with Damien, let alone explain it all to Mira. Rose didn't know him, and the very few times she had seen him, he made it clear that he despised her very existence. Yet, he danced with her. This is so confusing.
At that point, Rose made a vow to never let herself get drunk, especially with Mira, again. It was made very clear that Rose didn't know when to stop drinking, and drunk Rose was someone who should never be able to make an appearance. In one single night, she ruined one of her very few relationships and made herself out to be a desperate girl, which she definitely was not.
It was at times like this that Rose wished she had a hobby. Mira was an amazing photographer and sold her pictures for money, but she had told Rose that she started it all as a way to relieve her body of unwanted emotions. That was what Rose needed. Something to do to help calm her untamed emotions. She had tried drawing, but the only thing she was good at was stick figures, and those only came in handy during times of hangman games. Pictures were out of the story because she wouldn't be able to stop herself from comparing them to Miras. Maybe she should start working out? Ha. That was laugh worthy.
Rose was on her way from the bathroom to the living room when a knock at the door had her turning around and heading in that direction. As she made her way through the kitchen, she swiped the money off the table and headed into the foyer where the knocking had become harder.
"Coming!" She called, whipping open the large door. Standing on the other side of the threshold was a shy looking teenage boy, probably around eighteen years old, holding the large pizza boxes with a box of breadsticks on top and a bag with sodas hanging over his arm.
"Let me take that." Rose laughed, grabbing the boxes and setting them on the table beside the door. She then took the bag of soda and set it down on the floor before handing him the cash. "Keep the change as a tip."
The boys dark eyes went large. "That's... that's too much." He stammered, looking down at the cash.
Rose just laughed before waving him off. "Have a good night."
As Rose was closing the door, relishing in the smell of the pizza, when a blast of cold air hit her. It sent shivers down her spine and caused the plastic bag to flap wildly, and Rose was working on shutting the door, cursing the cold weather, when a second gust of wind hit her. In its wake came that gut wrenching smell of sulfur and decay. Roses hand on the door stilled, letting the door rest open a few inches.
