Alex: 26 weeks pregnant

Maggie's pov

I was really scared. I could not believe this was happening right now. Alex was freaking out, and I couldn't do anything.

"M-Maggie..." Alex cried.

"It's okay, baby. Calm down, we're going to the hospital right now." I tried to say.

"It's too soon!"

"I know, honey."

"I'll fly you to the hospital. You guys can go with the car, okay?" Kara suggested.

"No, I don't want to be alone. I want Maggie with me!" Alex panically expressed.

"Baby, it's safer if you go with Kara. She can get you to the hospital much faster. I promise I will be there as fast as I can. Okay?"

"Okay."

"We'll be alright." and I gave her a kiss.

Kara scooped Alex up and made sure Alex was not in too much pain. She quickly flew to the hospital, meanwhile, I called Doctor Hale to say that Alex was in labour. Then, I took all of my things and jumped in my car, on my way to the hospital.

Alex' pov

We were at the hospital in five minutes. Doctor Hale was waiting for me with a wheelchair. Kara put me in it, and wheeled me to my room.

"It's going to be okay, Alex. I promise." Kara whispered.

"I need Maggie!" I sobbed.

"I know, she'll be here soon."

"We haven't chosen a name, and we haven't decorated the nursery and..." I panicked.

"Calm down, Alex. It's not good for you and the baby." Kara said, while trying to calm me down. She failed.

"I want Maggie..."

"I'm here, baby. I'm not going anywhere." I heard Maggie say. "I promised I would be here as fast as I could."

Kara left the room and waited in the hall with the others. I wanted to get out of bed to hug Maggie, but she stopped me. She took off her shoes and crawled into bed with me, knowing that physical contact would calm me down. Maggie held me tight and whispered comforting words in my ears. I felt like the contractions were getting more painful by the minute. After thirty minutes at the hospital, Doctor Hale came in.

"Okay, Mrs. Sawyer. How are you?" Emily asked.

"It hurts so much!" I puffed.

"I know, but we're going to save your little boy. I'm going to make sure of that."

"It's going to be okay, honey. You can do this." Maggie whispered.

"We haven't got a name yet and..." but Maggie interrupted me.

"Don't think about that now. Concentrate on our little nugget, he's the most important thing in our life." she said.

"Okay." I replied. "Urgh, here's comes another one." I puffed.

"Breathe, baby." Maggie answered.

"I'm going to come check on you every hour. Press on the red button when you need my help." Doctor Hale said.

"Okay, thank you." Maggie replied.

And we waited and waited... for more than twelve hours. I only wanted Maggie in my room, she was the only one who was able to calm me down. And finally, it was time to bring our son into the world.

"You're going to push when you have your next contraction. Can you do that?" Doctor Hale asked.

"Okay, I'm ready." I said.

And I pushed.

"Good, baby. You can do this!" I heard Maggie say.

And I pushed.

"It hurts! I can't do this."

"Come on, baby. Keep going, you're doing great." Maggie said, while holding my hand.

"Just one more push!" Doctor Hale screamed.

And then, all the pain was gone. But I didn't hear the noise. I didn't hear our son crying.

"I don't hear a heartbeat." Doctor Hale said to one of the nurses.

"He's dead, isn't he?" I sobbed.

"I don't know..." Maggie held me in her arms.
