Scarlett sat on her knees in Wu's quarters. He was in front of her with his legs crossed, while Jay and Cole stood behind her. It was silent.

She pressed her fists into her thighs, frowning and unwilling to look up. "Am I... am I a threat?"

"What? Of course you're not." Jay placed a hand on her left shoulder, gently rubbing it in hopes of providing reassurance. "What happened was just a surprise, is all."

She wasn't very convinced.

He then leaned toward the ninja in black, whispering, "How long do you think they're gonna take? Her brooding is really contagious."

"Well..." Cole's voice was as low as his. "The burns he got need to be treated the right way. And it's not just her all upset." He turned to Wu. "Sensei looks troubled about this, too."

Their teacher was lost in thought. He wasn't an impatient person; in fact, Kai and the others taking their time actually gave him time to think about what exactly he'd say to Scarlett.

She couldn't know everything yet. It was too early on. But now she's seen her powers, and if she didn't learn to control them, things could get bad.

The hallway was then filled with murmuring voices.

"Jay said they'd be waiting for us. Your hands were burned, not your feet; walk faster."

"Alright, I'm going. Why is Zane never this pushy?"

"Nya is pushy enough for the both of us."

"Huh. Didn't know you could be an ass, Zane."

"... what?"

Eventually, the three were in the doorway. Cole and Jay made slicing motions at their necks, telling them to shut the hell up. The three froze for a moment.

"Ah..." Wu lifted his head a bit. He didn't sound the slightest bit irritated. "There you are."

Scarlett whipped her head around so fast she almost pulled a muscle in her neck. "Kai?" She quickly lowered her eyes toward his hands; they were completely wrapped in bandages. "Are... you okay?"

"Me? Never been better!" He waved her off with a carefree smile. "Don't worry. What happened was just a surprise, is all."

"Hey, I said that too," Jay commented.

She sighed, slowly dropping her head once again. "I'm sorry..."

Wu lightly shook his. "This is the the first time you've seen your elemental power. There's no shame in currently having no control."

Everyone was paying attention. They all stood behind the teen as she now faced the old sensei in front of her.

"You are a bit different than the other ninja," he began to explain. "Their powers lied dormant within them for all these years; they needed guidance for them to be unlocked. You, however... while your powers have also been dormant, leaving you unaware, they are easily triggered. At any point of your life, they could have easily appeared as they did now.

"You unintentionally summoned fire; this, I can only assume, is because you were near fire... while it wasn't the right way to handle the situation, this is why I had asked you to avoid Kai."
