______________________________________________________________I closed the front door, feeling exhausted. Today was the first time I had ever stood in my underwear in front of people I hadn't known for most of my life. I thought I wouldn't mind, but it was definitely unsettling.
We ended starting with bathing suit pictures, which I was very thankful for. I was much more comfortable starting with bikinis than I was starting with lingerie. When we did get to the under garments, however, I asked if some of the people could leave. I hated how snobby I sounded, but I just wasn't comfortable. Clara promised it would get better the more I did it. I had to constantly remind myself that it was normal and that I was only just starting my career. I had plenty of time to get used to it.
Dropping my keys on the front table so I wouldn't forget them, I headed straight upstairs to look for something to wear. I got Ana and Lucy, the make-up and hair artists who helped out with my shoots, to put my hair in simple curls and very minimal make up. They managed to make me look "laid back, yet striking!" (Their words, not mine.)
Staring at the clothes in my closet, I held my chin, contemplating on what I should wear. I was going on a date with Luke, finally accepting that I most definitely had a crush on him. Therefore, I was completely stuck on what to wear. Did I wear a dress or a skirt and look cute? Or maybe one of my rompers? Or would wearing something like that seem all to formal and like I was trying too hard? How much effort was I supposed to put in to it?
Feeling helpless and running low on time, I whipped out my phone and called the one person I knew would be able to help.
"Hello?" Anna answered on the second ring, music loud in the backround. If I had to guess, Anna was probably dancing around her room, something we used to do all the time.
"Anna, I'm in a major fix," I said, sounding slightly frantic.
"Oh shit, Ash, are you pregnant?!" Anna gasped, the music immediately shutting off.
"What?! No!"
"Phew, you really had me worried for a second," she sighed, sounding relieved.
"What? Why would you even- you know what, never mind," I said, shaking my head and getting back on task. "I'm in a major fix that is not me being pregnant."
"What happened?"
"Luke asked me on a date," I muttered, a grin spreading across my face as my cheeks lit up.
"What! When? How? Where? DId you say yes?! Stupid question, of course you did," Anna ranted.
"Yeah, I'll give you the details later," I said, waving her off before remembering she couldn't see me. "He's coming over very soon and I have no idea what to wear."
"Wow, who knew this day would come, the fashion expert asking little old me for help!" Anna laughed.
"Oh shut up, I ask you for help all the time," I said, rolling my eyes.
"I'm pretty sure it's the other way around," I heard her mutter. "But anyway. Where is your date?"
"We're trying out this new restaurant that opened just last week," I explained, holding up a sleeveless button down shirt before tossing it to the side.
"Is that all?" she asked,
"I think so," I replied, frowning as I thouht about it. Was that all we were doing? I had no idea.
