The rest of the school week went by in a blur, much to my luck. Before I even knew it, the bell was ringing Friday afternoon, signaling the end of school.
Over the course of the week I had memorized what classes Amelia and Whitney had, so I would know where I could possibly find them. On my 'B' day, I had both Amelia and Whitney in my AP physics class, and Whitney and Luke were in my AP United States History class.
I was also surprised to find Dalton in my dance class. He wasn't the type of person I had expected to be into dance, but I had to give it to him. The boy had moves.
I had a hunch he did it because he wanted to be around girls in tight clothing.
The last class I had was yearbook, but I didn't know anyone in the class. I was feeling optimistic about making friends in that class though because there were only about ten of us.
"Guys we should hang out before we go to the bonfire," Amelia suggested as the three of us walked towards the exit of the school.
"Do you guys want to come over to my place? We just got our stuff from California and I could definitely use some help unpacking and arranging," I said as we walked out into the sunny air. I didn't think I would ever get used to the weather here. Yeah, I guess it was the same as California, but it felt happier, warmer, if that made any sense.
"Definitely! I want to see where Luke Owen lives," Whitney giggled. I rolled my eyes and grinned. Just like almost every other girl in this school, Amelia and Whitney both had thought Luke was the hottest thing to walk the earth. And, like most girls, they were a little obsessed. I didn't actually care that they were hung up on him. In fact, I found it amusing.
"Ashlee!" I heard a familiar voice call from behind me. Turning, I saw Luke making his way towards me. "Need a ride?"
Everyday that week, Luke and driven me to and from school. It was really nice of him to do, even though I could walk.
"I have some friends coming over, so I'll be walking today. Thanks though," I said, smiling. I always looked forward to the end of the day because it meant riding in Luke's convertible.
"So? My car can fit more than two people you know," Luke smirked. "Do you girls want a ride?"
Amelia and Whitney looked like they were about to die. Unable to answer, I answered for them and soon we were all piling in to his car. I caught the heated glare of Mackenzie as we pulled out, but I didn't care.
Numerous times that week she had tried to pull me away from Amelia and Whitney, trying to get me to hang out with her. What was so special about me? There were plenty of girls who would have died to have Mackenzie want them in her group.
"Thanks, again, for giving us a ride," I said once we reached out street.
"Anytime. I like helping out beautiful ladies," he said, shooting Amelia and Whitney a wink. Whitney nearly tripped over herself getting out of the car and Amelia turned beat red. I smacked his arm, earning a yelp of surprise form him.
"Stop flirting with my friends, it's weird," I scolded, smirking at his pouty face.
"You hit me!" He cried dramatically.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my backpack, leading Amelia and Whitney over to my house. They looked back and yelled thank you, earning an award winning grin from Luke.
"Oh. My. God," Whitney said once we were in my room after I introduced them to my mom. "That was probably the best moment of my life!"
Out of the three of us, Whitney was definitely the one most crazy about Luke Owen. Amelia didn't care about him, but would listen in on the gossip about him. I didn't really care either.
