The rest of the week passed quickly and smoothly. I had my first few sessions with Michael and Clara which went really well. They let me go early today because it was the day of the soccer game. I was sitting in my moms car, taking out the brown contacts I had worn during the shoots. Being unable to feel them while they were in my eyes, I completely forgot they were there till I looked in the rear view mirror to fix my hair.
With my phone and wallet in hand, I got out and followed the crowd of cheering students. I guess soccer was a pretty big deal to this school, because the bleachers were almost completely full. Much to my luck and relief, Amelia and Whitney had chosen a spot on the first row. Now we wouldn't have to worry about not being able to see, or losing each other.
"Hey, we thought you weren't going to make it!" Whitney said, moving over and making space for me. "We almost had to give up your spot!"
"Yeah, sorry I was running a bit behind!" I chuckled. I hadn't told Amelia or Whitney about the modeling because I wasn't allowed to. Even though I wasn't allowed to, I had decided I would. If they were truly my friends, they would keep quiet about it. I had a feeling in my gut that they would.
Telling the boys however was out of the question. It wasn't that I didn't trust them, because I definitely did. I was already pushing it with telling Anna, Amelia and Whitney. The less people who knew, the better off I would be.
"So who are we playing again?" I asked, looking at all the people who dressed for the game. "And why is everyone wearing pirate costumes?"
"Cause we're the pirates," Amelia chuckled. "Gosh, you aren't very observant."
"I've been trying to memorize my way to classes," I said, blushing a bit. "I never really stopped to think why there were pirates on the walls."
"We're playing the Sea Side Seahawks," Whitney added in. "They're our number one rivals."
"Sea Side Seahawks?" I laughed. "That sure is a mouthful."
"It's actually Sea Side High School, but their mascot is the seahawk. Hence the name Sea Side Seahawk."
"Yeah, I got that part," I laughed. "So do Luke, Tyler and Dalton start or?"
"Yeah, they're probably the best on the team," Whitney said.
"No, they are the best on the team," Amelia corrected. "You'll see. During the game, you'll hear all these girls screaming for them three. Especially Luke, since he's the captain."
When they told me they were good, I automatically believed it, but I didn't think they were so good they would have almost the whole school screaming their names! "Soccer is kind of life here," Whitney chuckled, seeing my expression.
"I guess so!" I said, the cheers all around me starting to get me hyped. Not even five minutes later, everyone on the bleachers stood up and started jumping up and down, screaming. Looking out on the feild, I saw the cheerleaders holding a big poster of a Pirate.
The poster suddenly ripped as Luke ran through it, shortly followed by Tyler and Dalton, and then the rest of the team. Amelia, Whitney and I were the only ones not jumping around cheering. With a smile on my face, I got up and started cheering for them. Turning back towards Amelia and Whitney with a big grin, I got them to stand up and cheer along.
We screamed along with the school, the excitement in the air almost electrifying. The three of them ran out to the middle of the court, shaking hands with three other people on the Seahawks. A referee came over with a coin, flipping to see who got the ball. We were starting with it.
"Let's go boys!" The three of us yelled on the count of three as loudly as we could as they started to jog back to the rest of the team. Tyler looked up and saw us, waving with a big grin. That caused the other two to look up and also grin at us. We cheered and waved back, chanting along with the school.
