Hinagiku's P.O.V.-
The meeting was so long and tiring. Some of the teachers, members of the school authorities and us, the student council members, were all present. Of course we had to, the topic is no less than the graduation ceremony of the prestigious Hakuo Academy after all.
It should have been a serious meeting throughout the day. But given the various mindsets of our students and teachers,it was so meaningless and bothersome. They were turning up with so many awkward plans that I had to say 'no' each time. I was so obsessed with replying a 'no' that when Aika called it a day, I still said 'no'. Although it was so late by then. I miss Chiharu too much at times like these.
After they had left my room,I suddenly remembered that it is my last time enjoying the planning of the graduation ceremony. Next time, I will be so busy with my studies and I may not have to organize the ceremony as I will also be graduating.
So I was sipping my coffee being relaxed and filled with memories. Suddenly I heard a familiar voice,'So how did you celebrate your first rejection?' It was seriously tough not to split my coffee on the desk. Then I noticed that miss chairman was still here. 'Haven't you gone home already ?' I nearly shouted. She calmly answered,' I preferred to stay here for a bit.' I yelled once again,'You should have told me about it before.'
After a few moments, I sat in a sofa opposite to hers. I was not ready to talk about my confession of last week. She let me have my time by chatting about random topics. Then I got back to the point.
' I knew the answer all along, of course. Even before you told Ayumu about your not being reflected in his eyes anymore.' I sighed, then began,' He politely said he now wants to concentrate in his career and that.... I am so helpful.' Athena commented ,You missed so many chances throughout the year after all.' My voice was dead cold,'It was because of you too. Just when I was about to express my feelings,he declared his love for you. I was so hopeless back then.' After a moment of silence, I began,' I did confess him once but then, he could not hear me.'
' It surely is strange to see the student council president to talk about her failures so spontaneously', a hidden smirk appeared on her face.
' No your views are entirely not correct.' I said while going towards the balcony with the coffee mug in my hand. 'Being rejected is not the same as being failed. I learnt too many things from him actually.'
She came into the balcony too. I continued,'I could surpass my limitations only thanks to him. In spite of all the troubles and misunderstanding he caused, I am relieved that I trusted him.'
'Now I know,by being rejected I didn't loose anything. Right now,I can wholeheartedly move on. I am grateful to him, and have no grudge against anyone. I have met some irreplaceable friends like Ruka and Ayumu, only for him. And what Ayumu said is true, we are not separated by death after all. At least you know what I mean, right?' She smiled sadly upon hearing me.
The sunset at the school-yard is amazing to see from the top, I felt so for the first time.
