"Hi Doc! It's so good to finally see you." Andie flashed her brightest smile. "Will I be free of my cast today?"
"Hey there pretty lady. Mukha namang sa pag-aalaga nila sa'yo matatanggal na 'tong cast mo today." sagot naman ng doktor.
"Are you sure doc? We've taken extra precautions for her these past weeks." Linda said in her usual business-as-usual tone.
"Well, looking at how she can freely move without support, her fracture has already healed. But for her shoulders, she would need to wear a sling for 2 more weeks. After that, we will proceed with her therapy for her shoulder since Andie would need to regain her muscle strength and movement." pag-e-explain ng doktor.
"Yes!" Andie exclaimed. "I don't need chaperones anymore!"
"Although you may still feel some pain when moving around specially sa extraneous activities. So you still need to take precaution when moving. If you feel some pain just take pain meds okay?"
"Yes, doc!" sagot ni Andie while she was being wheeled away para matanggal na yung cast niya.
So, no more wheel chairs for me." pagmamayabang naman ni Andie.
"Yeah, no more wheel chairs but you would need to go to therapy twice a week. Yaya Saleng, please don't forget that Andie has to go to the hospital every Wednesdays and Saturdays starting two weeks from now okay? Ikaw na sumama sa kanya. I'll also give the driver a heads up para maihatid kayo sa hospital." Andie's mom interjected.
"Yes Ma'am."
Finally it was removed. I can join P.E. classes now and I can go to school on my own. I miss my favorite spot! Nagpaplano na si Andie ng mga gagawin sa school.
"Andie I hope you learned something from this. Bawas-bawasan mo yang pagiging clumsy mo. Wag kang tatanga-tanga. Maging alerto ka sa paligid mo. Ang laki-laki mo na para malaglag ka pa sa hagdan." narinig ni Andie na sinasabi ng mommy niya habang papunta sya ng kwarto. Nakakapanliit kasi naririnig lahat ni Yaya Saleng at ng mga kapatid niya. Gaya ng lahat ng pagkakataong ganito, pinili ni Andie na manahimik at pinagpatuloy ang pagakyat sa kwarto.
Andie was trying to keep herself busy when she heard a knock on her door.
"Ate Andie." one of her favorite voices.
"Lilie. Come." Andie replied sweetly.
Lilie peeked inside with her shy smile and Andie motioned her to sit on the bed.
"Hi there baby. How are you? I haven't seen you in a while ah. Ate missed you." Andie said while hugging her little sister.
"Mommy brought me to granny's and grampa's when you got hurt. Mommy said I can't bother you kasi I might hurt you more."
"Oh, baby, I'm so sorry. You shoud've asked mom if you could stay to take care of me. I know you will never hurt Ate, right?" paglalambing ni Andie.
"No Ate. I will never hurt you. I love you eh. I missed you nga. Wala akong kalaro kila granny."
"Oh, now that you're back home, Ate will play with you again. Gusto mo ba yon?"
"Yes! But are you okay now Ate Andie? No more boo-boos?"
"Ofcourse baby. Ate's strong eh. Tsaka you're here na. I love you Little Lilie." then Lilie gave her a kiss.
Lilie gave Andie a book to read to her that afternoon. She just happily sat on Andie's lap.
Andie adored Lilie. She was one of the reasons why Andie can't find the courage to leave home. Her little ray of sunshine, Lilie. One of the few good things that life gave her. One of the few people she knows who loves her genuinely. Her sweet little sister, Lilie.
