Taylor woke up to the sound of screaming. She immediately jerked her head up and ran towards the door, almost tripping over Meredith on the way out.
"What's going on?" Karlie says, walking out of her room as well.
Karlie looks over to Taylor, who just shrugs and continues to run toward the noise.
"You're still here?" Taylor asks, her mouth wide. She remembers very clearly telling him he could stay at the hotel nearby, and judging by his appearance and greasy eyes, he never left.
"Well, as I was about to leave, Brin came running out of her room and I offered to get her icecream." He says, acting as innocent as he could.
"And you let her? At what, 1:00 am?" Taylor yells.
"No, of course not! It was only 12:00 am." He says sheepishly, walking away from Taylor to take a seat on the couch. "Plus, I can't leave now. The paparazzi are too close by."
"Fine, you stay here for the rest of the day. But we have some matters to discuss." Taylor said. "Karlie?"
Karlie, who was now talking with Brin, turned her attention to the red-faced Taylor, who was clearly not okay with the risk of him being here.
"You stay in the playroom with Brin, I'll be back soon." Taylor continued, grabbing his hand and leading him to a small piano area in the back of the house.
"I'm not stupid, you're hiding something." Taylor said.
"Like how you hid you were alive for so many years? Do you know what your friends and fans went through?"
"Some of my friends know. And don't change the subject, you've been leaving your hair over eyes, something you do when you hide stuff. So, what is it? Alligators in my living room?" She joked.
"Not again. Really, the weather is nice out today. You sure you...."
"No, tell me." Taylor said, raising her voice.
"Fine! I brought him." He said.
"Who's him? What do you mean?" Taylor asked, although she already knew.
"He was worried, okay? I had to tell him! He never got over you, Taylor. You guys dated in secret for 5 years until you called it off." He said.
"I don't even...." Taylor started.
"Don't, I know you want to see him. He loves you, Taylor. Be easy on him." He said.
"Thanks." She said. "For telling me, I mean."
"Telling you what?" Karlie says, peeking her head in.
"He brought Jake with him, Karlie."
