"Red dress or blue?" Taylor asked Karlie, easing an eyebrow as she eyes both dresses carefully.

"Do the blue. It brings out your eyes, and a bonus, we can actually see your knees!" Karlie jokes, referring to how long the red dress was, and every other dress Taylor has worn in the past few years.

"You can't blame me! I'm a mother!" Taylor jokingly replied back.

"Who said I was blaming you? The only reason I'm upset is because you get to go out with two guys and I didn't even receive an invite." Karlie said.

"I'm sorry, you know I would've, but Brin...."

"I get it. Go have fun! Water proof mascara, red lipstick, a fancy leather purse, and designer heels can take my place." Karlie said while pushing Taylor out the door. "Have a great night!"

Taylor smiled as she jogged into the car waiting. They had rented out an entire restaurant so that nobody would find Taylor there. While changing routes quickly, they had managed to lose the paparazzi, making Taylor extremely happy.

"You look gorgeous!" He exclaimed as Taylor sat down in the car.

"Thank you, you too." She blushed.

"Yeah, you look great." Jake added in. Taylor only glanced at him before looking back to the other extremely handsome man sitting next to her.

"I love the color on you." He noted. "It's funny because this may be the first time in awhile I'm able to go out with both of you and not feel like a third wheel."

"Not that you needed to feel that way." Taylor quickly chimed in. "I mean, I was always happy to have you around. I.... I guess I still am."

She smiled at him before turning around to Jake, who was looking very uncomfortable.

"Sorry, Jake. Hi." Taylor said.

"I should be the one saying sorry, Taylor. Hello." He replied, smiling and grabbing her hand. Taylor quickly pulled her hand back and accidentally slapped him in the face.

Then the car came to a stop and they arrived at the people/paparazzi free restaurant.

"Next person who slaps somebody has to pay for dinner." He smiled at Taylor, giving her butterflies.

"Well, um, this date is...." Jake started.

"Who said this was a date? I'm just hanging out with you guys. As friends. It's not a date. Don't think too much into this, please." Taylor smiled, sitting down at a table. "We're all friends here."

Maybe, Taylor thought. Maybe I could try to be something more to him.

But that was unstable ground, and Taylor knew she was already sinking.
