Taylor knew what was coming next.Brin was crying, Taylor was crying, and she was 99% sure she saw him crying too.
"I'll miss you, Taylor." He said, hugging her tightly.
"I'm gonna miss you too." She said back, surprising herself.
"I'll miss you, mommy!" Brin said, pulling at Taylor's leg.
Taylor picked her up and kissed her forehead. She wiped away a tear from Brin's cheek and Brin smiled and did the same to Taylor.
"I know you will, I'll miss you too. It's only for a little bit though, you'll be home before you know it." Taylor said.
Taylor set Brin down and waved as they opened the door.
"I love you!" Brin yelled, turning around and blowing her mom a kiss.
"I love you too." Taylor smiled.
It was weird. She almost said it to him, too. But she wasn't sure if she was still in love, or if she was just feeling butterflies from being around him again.
"Goodbye, Taylor." He said, his accent almost hidden by his few tears.
Taylor smiled at him as he closed the door. He didn't break eye contact until the door covered his face.

Brin was silent the whole way. They had to take a plane to New York, where they would go to an interview the next day.
"I'm kind of excited." He said, looking over at Brin. "I know it's your first time here, but I love New York."
"I miss my mom." Brin said.
"I know you do, but it'll be over soon. I promise. You see that over there? That's what we call the Statue of Liberty."
"I miss my new school, which I haven't even been able to go to lately." She frowned.
"We're almost to the place we're gonna be staying at for the next few nights. It's at a good friend's house. Your mom used to be best friends with her."
"What happened?" Brin said, finally paying attention.
"Well, your mom left when she had you." He said.
"But it was to keep us safe. And now all of that isn't gonna be the same anymore." Brin said.
He stated to think. Maybe this was too much. The whole reason Taylor spent years of her life out there was to hide Brin and keep her safe.
"Am I ruining that?" He asked, playing with the zipper on his jacket.
"I feel like you're helping. You seem like a good guy!" She smiled, looking over.
He smiled at that, and they both returned to silence.

When they arrived at (who you probably already guessed) Selena's house, he was quick to great her, hugging her and it seemed he almost forgot that Brin was there.
She thought that this girl looked nice, but this place was scary. Now would be a good time to run and go back to mom.
Just as Brin turned her heel to run, he jogged over and grabbed her hand.
"This is Brin, my daughter." He announced.
The girl started tearing up.
"She looks so much like Taylor." The girl said, running over to Brin. "Hey, I'm Selena. It's so nice to finally meet you!"
"Hello Selena, I'm Brin. It's nice to meet you too." Brin said politely, feeling really awkward as Selena hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry, I just miss your mom." Selena laughed through her tears.
"Me too." Brin said, hugging her back.
"How about we get you ready for bed? I made you a little room since you'll be staying her for awhile." Selena smiled, picking up Brin and running to one of the rooms in her apartment.
"Here it is. Right next to mine, in case you need anything." Selena opened the door, and Brin was amazed.
There were 2 fluffy white chairs in the corner, right by a purple table that held a butterfly lamp in on it.
The walls were purple, and one wall had purple and white flower designs. That was the wall that the white canopy bed was up against.
Her pillows were all purple, a few with hearts and some quotes from song lyrics that her mom had sang to Brin when she was a baby. Brin remembers them very well.
The bed was super soft, Brin decided after she had sat on it.
There was a small bookshelf, the floor was a light wood with a huge purple rug in the middle.
The closet was a few feet away from the bookshelf. It was pretty big, a walk in closet, with around 40 things inside.
"I've always wanted a little girl. When I found out I couldn't have kids, I was really upset. So this is one of the most fun things I've done! Do you like it?"
"Like it? It's awesome!" Brin smiled excitedly. "Thank you so much. You're amazing!"
Brin ran over to Selena and hugged her.
Brin noticed a wall of pictures outside of her new room. She saw a few of her mom on there, and she was curious as to why there were so many, but she didn't ask.
"Now, let's get you ready for bed. You have a very big day tomorrow."
