4 Months Later
School was finally out! No more pain in the ass high school! Josh and I were ecstatic since our vacation with Brendon and Dallon was now only 2 months away.
Things have been good with my heart, the CRT was seeming to work and the test results have been steady since the test before the procedure. So it's not ever going to get better, but at least it wasn't getting worse. That's all we could hope for.
Josh was coming to stay for the whole week to celebrate our 5 months and graduating and I couldn't wait to get home. I rushed to my car and got in quickly putting the key in the ignition. I pressed on the gas and sped home to clean.
I entered the house and set my schoolbag upstairs in the corner. Didn't need that thing anymore. I looked around my room and it was practically spotless. Could use more work.
I went downstairs to grab the vacuum and began dragging it upstairs when my father came up behind me.
"Here." he said as he took it and brought it upstairs and I followed behind confused. "You've been cleaning all week Tyler.. I don't think the house can get any cleaner.. You should take it easy."
"Uhm yeah... It's just Josh is coming for the week and-"
"And you want it to be special."
"Yeah.." I replied slowly.
He gave a small smile, "Let us help you out.. You've grown into a very independent young man."
"I really didn't have a choice.." I mumbled.
"I know, we know.. And your mother and I, we feel awful for it. We want to change that."
"You want to change it? Now?!" I scoffed, but then I saw the frown on my dad's face and I remembered what Josh said. I didn't want it to be too late either. I sighed, "You know.. I'd uhm.. I'd like that."
He smiled some and I returned a small one back.
"Okay. Well, i'll go clean the kitchen then."
"T-thanks Dad.."
He gave another smile then descended down the stairs again.
That was strange, I don't think I said "dad" to my father in quite a while. It brought a small smile to my face, let's just see if they'll keep it up this time.
I went over and plugged the vacuum in and quickly went over my room and the hallway. I put it in the upstairs closet afterwards seeing that I didn't wanna take it all the way back downstairs and then I cleaned the bathroom.
I smelled of chemicals and what better way than to break in a freshly cleaned bathroom than to take a shower in it. This was no time for a long shower though, Josh was packing up and getting ready to leave. So I hopped in quickly and got out and went downstairs to watch tv.
Neither of my parents watch what I do, but they sat down and watched it with me anyway. Like a normal family. It'd take some getting use to, but maybe I could.
I felt my phone vibrate and saw Josh's name flash across the screen. Yes we finally gave each other our numbers. We kept forgetting.
"Josh is here." I said getting up and going to the door. I opened it and smiled at my boyfriend. I held out my hand to take his bag. "I'll get it. Fair warning my parents are being... well parents." I chuckled.
"Oh yeah?" he raised a brow with a small laugh. "That's cool."
"Josh- I watched tv with them. I haven't done that since I was like 11."
