It was a rainy Saturday morning when Kris beeped me.

From : Kris

Have some quality time with Dad. I'll bring Mom out for lunch and shopping for awhile.

11.03 AM

I rushed to downstairs when I realised it is already 11 in the morning.
The house was empty and it is dark since it is a gloomy day.
Where could Dad possibly go?

I went outside with an open umbrella and get across our yard to go to Dad's small workshop next to our house.
I let out a sigh in relieve when I saw him inside.

I hate to be alone at home even though I had been in that situation for numerous times.

I put down the umbrella and smoothes down my creased pajamas.

“What are you doing?” I asked Dad even though I clearly know what he was doing.
It had become a habit of mine to ask something obvious.

Dad didn't flinched at all as if he knew I was here awhile ago.

Ever since we are in good terms, Dad always spend his time in his workshop and showed me his skills.

Dad chuckled with my messy appearance.
I was still in my pajamas, my hair was terribly messy and my whole face was oily.
I wipe my face using my palm instantly upon the thought.

“You had a good sleep, Aurora?” Dad teased me and I chuckled instantly.
“Yes. How about you?” I asked, leaned closer to the wall and watched his skillful hands works with clay.

“I did have a good sleep. Thank you for asking, little girl.”

I watched Dad mould the clay like a professional as expected.

“Do you want to mould it?” Dad asked, referring to his clay arts.
My eyes twitched in response.

“Come on, the clay won't bite your pretty hands.” Dad added and nudged my side playfully.

I let out a shaky chuckle and nodded in response.
Dad's face lighten.
He loves this side of me.

“It's your 21th birthday on next Tuesday, isn't it?” Dad asked.
Yes! This also means that I'm gonna graduate from this academy this year, for another 6 months!

“Yeah. You're right!” I chirped, standing next to Dad and copied his actions. Dad snorted and turned to face me.
He put his hands on top of mine and showed me the right way to do.

“Have you think about what do you want for your birthday present?” Dad asked.
“Not yet. Maybe you might know what I want even before I know.”

“What are you trying to say, Susie?” Dad asked, his eyebrows lifted a bit.
“I'll accept anything and I love surprise!” I laughed.

“That's my daughter.” Dad smiled warmly.

It took an hour for me to finish the simplest task with Dad's help.
I thought he'll gave up on me but he kept teaching me again and again.

“Thank you for your patience, Dad.”

“Thank you for your time, Susie.”

Dad and I had a lunch together.
Dad cooked it while I took a bath.
After all I didn't know how to cook.
