“I-I.. I..” Susie stuttered.

Mr Wu put his handphone on his desk and crossed his arms.

Susie take a step forward and read the message from the phone.

From : Unknown

Hi, Mr Wu. This is me, Jongin.
I just wanted to say that I'm a bit disappointed that Susie cancelled her participation in the swimming competition on the very last minute.
She looks unwell that day. Is she fine?

1:45 PM

She grunted in annoyance when she knew she can't lie anymore because Jongin already send a picture as proof.

“That damn, Jongin! He won't let me live my life now?!” Susie cursed under her breath.

“Susie!”

“I'm sorry, Dad.” Susie apologized immediately.
Blood rushed to her head making her face red in anger.

“How could you lie to me, Susie?!” Mr Wu asked.
His eyes reflects how he feels.

Betrayed and hurt.

“I didn't meant too, Dad. .” Susie whispered in guilty. She never seen her Dad looking so upset like this.

“I know you wouldn't let me join the swimming team again.”

“Then why? Why did you join?!”

“I just wanted to do something I like.” Susie replied, her eyes wouldn't dare to look at Mr Wu's face.

Susie's gaze shifted towards Mr Wu's desk.
Apparently, a picture of her is slightly covered by a mini vase.

She recognized the signature on the vase.
Green envy clouded her mind.
It is Im Hana's signature.

“I told you to stay away from any water sports. Is it too hard for you to listen to me?” Mr Wu asked in whispering tone.

“I don't want anything bad happen to you again. How could I know that you're safe when you're almost die because of the whitewater rafting years ago.”

“I couldn't bear it to lose my child.” Mr Wu's voice cracked.

Susie's eyes widened.

‘So this is the real reason why Dad wouldn't let me join any water sports?’

Her anger towards Jongin dissipates.
She finally realised that her Dad is just simply worrying about her, not stopping her dream.
If she could persuade him, he might let her pursue her dream.

“Dad.” Her lips curls into smile.

“Why are smiling, foolish child?”

Susie chuckled and launched herself to Mr Wu.
She hugged him tightly.

Mr Wu sighed before hugging and rubbing her back soothingly.
His anger disappeared within a matter of second.

“Are you with Jongin? I meant why would he message me over this?”

Susie's eyes widened.

“No! We broke up already.” Susie exclaimed.

Mr Wu stared at Susie as if he isn't buying it.

A buzzing from Susie's handphone breaks the icy silence in the room.

Susie answered the call without checking the caller ID.
