Ivory's POV
I sat in the living room with Dad, Mom and Car as we watched TV together. Well more me and Dad was watching TV while mom was reading and Car was on his phone.
"Are you guys keeping up on your school work?" Dad asked getting my attention, but obviously not Car's
"Yeah, trying my best. Eli, is encouraging me to run for student council president." Mom looked up from her book and smiled at me.
"That's amazing, hun. You're doing a whole lot better than your father and I in high school." Dad looked at her raising his eyebrow.
"And how do you know how I did in high school?" She looked at him almost challenging his stare.
"I don't, but I could only assume it wasn't better than Ivy's grades right now." He rolled his eyes and I laughed a little.
"Also slowly, but surely meeting some new people. I met this girl a couple days ago named Calista." Car looked up from his phone to look at me for a second before going back to his phone. "What was that look, Car?" I asked as he didn't look up again.
"What look?" He asked.
"The suspicious look you just did when I said her name."
"I don't know what you're talking about?" He said trying to play stupid as I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Mom?" I asked trying to get her input. If I saw it then she would have definitely seen it too.
"There was definitely a look." She said and Car put his phone down and sighed.
"Really?" He said realizing he was out numbered. "Dad?" He said looking at his direction.
"Sorry, kiddo. You're going up against two profilers. I don't think you can win this one." He sighed in frustration.
"Spill it, Car." I said sitting up and he rolled his eyes.
"I know Calista. Blake told me about her a little while ago." I nodded thinking that was the case.
"Yeah, figured. She told me a couple days ago. Do you also know he's been a big douchebag to her?" I said as my mother looked at me surprised.
"Blake is acting that way to a girl? Do I need to talk to his mother?" She asked and Car shook his head.
"Mom, please don't. He'll never talk to me again if he found out I told you." She nodded and let him finished talking. "It's not like that, Ivy. Blake... just has a lot on his mind." He tried to explain.
"What could he possibly have on his mind to treat that sweet girl the way he does?" He sighed and sat up.
"People have been making fun of him regarding Calista and it's just getting to him a little. They've been spreading rumors that he's hanging out with the broken girl or the crazy girl. Calista tends to lose her cool sometimes and does things that a normal girl wouldn't do. She's broken some stuff in the school giving her a bad name. Now they've started calling him a psycho by association and I guess he's distancing himself from her." Car's explanation didn't help Manny's case at all. In fact it's just irritating me even more.
