~Joe's POV~
I was walking down the corridor to my locker when a girl suddenly stopped me by stepping in my way. I was startled at first. I have 10 minutes left before class started.
I looked at the girl. She smiled at me and I raised an eyebrow. She looked familiar. I thought I knew her but I don't want to remember her.
"Hi, Joe. Remember me? Elena??" The girl asked.
"No." I lied. I've known her since elementary school.
"Too bad because I remembered you."
"Just go away!" I said sternly
"I know you remembered me, but refused to admit it."
"Yes, I remembered you so what?!" Who wouldn't remember a girl like her? She was my schoolmate before I moved here. But too bad for her being a bitch. If not, I would've stayed.
Just because one accident, everything messed up. We wouldn't be like this if it's not because of me. I moved here because I want to forget about it and to start a fresh new life.
No one knows about the accident since I moved here. Even my parents never mentioned about it. It was a bad memory to be remembered. Better forgot than have to suffer regretting and blaming my own self.
"Just get out of my face!" I walked past her.
"Be careful with your words! Or it might get you back!" She screamed at me.
I've wasted five minutes for her and I'm not wasting anymore time now. I took the books I need and walked to History class.
As I stepped in, the bell rang. I greeted Mr Hewitt and took my seat at the back of class. I glared at Cam who was staring as if I'm a walking hamburger. I grinned at her and she looked away.
"I have a project for you spring break." Everyone in the class complained to Mr Hewitt.
"I know, I know how you feel. I was a teenager too. But it contains forty percents of the exam score. If you want an 'A' plus, do it. If don't, an 'F' for you. Sorry, but this is school."
"Why can't we have a holiday without being stress because of homework?!" Layla, a mixed American-Korean girl said loudly to her friends.
"Quiet, please. This is a pair work. I'll pair you up with you partner." He took a piece of paper from his table and read it out loud. "Diane Jackson and Harry Keeper. Layla Thompson and Kenny Lark. Joseph Brian and Cameron Hart. Gary Goodswill and Gwen Thomas. Kelly Mason and Jacob Sheen..." he continued on till the end.
I looked at my partner. She was looking out the window with earphones on.
"Now, get in to pair and I'll give you the assignment paper." I stood up and dragged my chair to Cam's place. She looked at me with a confused face.
"What are you doing here?" she asked me.
"Mr Hewitt asked us to sit in pairs, so..." I trailed off.
"What?!"
"Mr Hewitt asked us to-"
"What did you say?!" she cut me off. I sighed and my eyes fell on her ears. She didn't take her earphones off. I laughed. My hand reached for her ears and pulled the earphones, and we laughed together.
"Sorry, didn't realized I still had my earphones on."
"It's okay."
"What did you said? Just now, when..." she trailed off.
