I woke up with a minor headache the next morning. I'm not even sure how I got home, let alone back in my bed in my actual pj's. I groggily flip over and pick up my phone, pressing the home button as I look at the time.
I squint at the multiple rectangles on my my phone in an attempt to get rid of the blurriness in my vision, before I'm finally able to see clearly. I had slept through thirty- yes, thirty- alarms. 10:12 am. My eyes shot open as I looked at the time. I had already missed first period!
I sprang up from bed and ran into the bathroom. My hands hovered over the counter in panic as my eyes darted between the different items sprawled out in my bathroom, thinking what I should do fist.
Shower? No time to shower, you've got a quiz third period, remember? Makeup?! Listen girl, you look ratchet enough as it is, don't waste your time trying to fix what you can't fix. Say you're feeling organic today. I've got to at least eat breakfast, right? You can go out for lunch, it's only one period away anyway. You're all set!
I run back out after brushing my hair and teeth and throw on a random dress, before grabbing my bag and my phone and booking it down the stairs. Slipping on my vans and running out the front door, I froze, almost forgetting I've also got to lock the door. I turn back with a grunt, nearly tripping over my own two feet as I get the keys from the rack in the entrance hallway. I lock the door, dump my keys and phone into my bag and begin running. This was the one situation where I could use my running skills. And oh boy did I use them. I had reached the school in half the time it usually takes me to walk here.
I managed to make it to my second block, though I was about fifteen minutes late. I stood in front of the door, awkwardly shuffling my feet. I hated being late, believe it or not. The whole class would stare down anyone who walked in late like a pack of vultures. It really was the most uncomfortable thing ever.
"Skipping class now, are we Miss Gray?" I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at the sound of Tania's voice. I turned towards the direction of the voice, where I saw Tania and a few of her dolls approaching me.
"Seriously? You're going to give me crap about skipping when you practically failed a full year?" I reply back harshly. She scowled at me as she walked up to me.
"I was hoping to hear that you've stopped hanging with my boys." She batted her eyelashes, an innocent smile forming on her full lips.
"Really now, because I was hoping to hear you'd moved countries over night." I smile. "If I haven't made myself clear enough before, I suggest you perk up those Dumbo sized elephant ears of yours. I will not leave my friends, for your. Irrelevant. Ass."
Her already dark eyes seemed to blacken as she looked at me with a bored expression. She fixed the backpack on her shoulder, before walking past me, hitting me in the shoulder in the process.
"You're going to regret that, Maya." She sang as she walked away.
Her dolls followed her without a word, only replicating her glare at me. I flashed them a fake smile, before opening the door to my class and walking in. As expected, everyone's eyes shot up, gluing themselves to me.
Mr.Seto looked up from his desk, an expectant look on his face. God how I wanted to just give him one of my special smart ass lines... I cleared my throat and began walking to my seat.
"Sorry." I whisper simply, before sitting down. I hated math with a passion. Calculus in particular. Not only did Mr.Seto not know how to properly teach, but most of the class pissed me off just as equally. On the bright side, I did have the highest mark in the class. Not to brag or anything. I smiled to myself, before the class was once again interrupted by- well, no one knew her.
