"In the end, you have to choose whether or not to trust someone."

I just sat there waiting for my blood to flow through my veins again. My limbs felt like there was no life in them, like they were just dead weight. I started to flex my muscles slowly trying to get used to movement again when the feeling of being poked by a thousand sharp objects flowed through my arms and legs.
My head felt muddled and I was a bit disoriented. Guess my body is getting used to having a beating heart again. I just wanted to sleep.
As I sat on the floor, waiting for my body to go back to normal, I wondered what would become of me later on. How many times will I be forced to die? How much torture can one human take? I laughed a bit at the last question. I'm only half human, even if I had the clan's pure blood running through my veins it wouldn't change the fact that I was still a mortal.
You are too young to be put through this, Silver.
I smiled.
Same goes for you, Zephyr, I countered.
Even in a situation like this you are still able to jest?
Always try to find a bright side to these kinds of things; it takes your mind off of the real situation you're in.
Only you would think that way. He replied, laughing.
Once my limbs were capable of moving again, I got up with more effort than the action usually takes. Stumbling a bit and regaining my balance, I walked through the door and out of the room. I cautiously stepped into the stone hallway, leaning against the walls to give me support then stopped at the two ways the corridor broke into.
That's when I noticed the torches that were hanging on the walls. Guess they really want to give you a sense of despair; wanting you to lose all hope of ever leaving Silent Edge.
If my memory served me right, the combination of the turns that the Commander took to get here was right, left, left, right, left, right. So, I just have to start backwards.
Turning right then left, I waited for the waves to show me the soldiers that patrolled these halls since I was on the second floor of the prison, but the corridors were empty.
I remained glued to the walls being careful not to fall; my muscles weren't ready to hold all my weight yet.
Right, left and still no sign of any patrolmen.
I even passed by rooms that some of the soldiers were staying in, but all of them were closed and empty.
Taking a left and finally a right, I came to the stairs that the Commander dragged me up from.
All the passageways remained clear of any soldiers. I frowned at this but still kept my guard up.
The ripples of the earth told me that the walls next to the stairs have railings. I breathed a sigh of relief and gripped the wooden banister as I made my way down with a bit of difficulty.
My senses were still on high alert waiting for that ambush that they were so desperately delaying...
My feet touched the flat stone surface of the same rectangular room I remember entering the first time I came inside Silent Edge, which means the door that leads towards the home that I was taken away from is right in front of me, and no guards stood watch.
I shook my head to get rid of the temptation. I couldn't escape and leave Lynx here. But, what about the others? Some of them are actually criminals too...
