The one thing that really bothered Y/N was that now Dylan was off of paternity leave he was only home half of the time. It was almost like Y/N was a single mother– raising their two kids on her own. Sure, she had help from both their parents but she wanted Dylan home. She missed him and she knew the kids did too.

The three O'Briens hadn't seen Dylan in over a month and they were extremely excited to be able to see him tonight. He was supposed to be driving from his filming site to their hometown. It was their oldest's first baseball game and his parents couldn't be more proud. Dylan's co-workers had heard so much about it that they literally had to have the director tell him to shut up or else they would be there all night.

So, currently, Y/N and her two kids were on their way to the game. Looking back at her son, she asked, "Hey, Jake, daddy's gonna have dinner with us tonight after he comes to your recital."

Y/N laughed as her 5 year old smiled, "Are you excited? "

"Yeah!" Jake yelled and Y/N looked at her 8 month old daughter. She was sleeping, her head falling to the side. Y/N smiled even wider as she looked between her two kids. She loved how much they looked like Dylan.

"Let's call him," she raised her eyebrows at Jake and turned back around.

She pushed the correct buttons that would connect her to her husband. The stoplight turned green as he answered. She quickly put it on speaker and set down the phone, "Hey."

"I was just about to call you," Dylan's voice came through the phone.

"Hey, babe, are you close?" Y/N asked, sharing a smile with Jake.

"Uh. . . I am still in New York, actually."

"What?" Y/N's smile dropped and her grip on the steering wheel tightened as she switched lanes.

"It's insane," Dylan started to explain, "two of the cast members got into it and he's considering quitting, so I'm stuck here trying to keep him on board."

"That's not really your job, is it?" Y/N asked her husband.

"Yeah, kinda, babe."

"Hon, I wish you would have told me an hour ago, when you knew you weren't gonna make it."

"Y/N, I couldn't get out," his voice came off as condescending and he continued before Y/N could get in a word. "I barely made it out just to make this phone call."
