A Tall, Thin Woman

Vivid colors, laughter, and the crisp sound of the bell above the door is what first called me to the shop. I felt my excitement build as I walked through the door to another world and the little bell rang, a sound that cut through all the laughter and happiness and came and hit you in the ear, it sounded different now than it did when I was outside.

As my eyes adjusted to their surroundings I took a quick look around, it was my childhood in a room. A gummy city made just for the little bears, tall skyscrapers made for the little beans of jelly to live in, a neighborhood devoted to the little sugary sweets covered in salt. There were shelves upon shelves covered with candies of every color and type. The store itself had a magical yet slightly menacing feel to it. Ignoring the latter I looked at the children, breathing in the sugary air, laughing as they ate their bags of sweets, not a care in the world. They continued laughing as they spoke to the lady at the counter. She was a tall thin woman, dressed in a knee length puffy lilac dress with a thin smile, blue eyes, and a defined face. She handed them all their bags of candy and ushered them towards a glass door towards the side of the room. It was all so overwhelming so I took a deep calming breath but the only scent in that room was an overpowering sickly sweet smell that made me nauseous.

I looked up coughing and made eye contact with the lady at the counter and her thin lips curled up into a sinister smile. Her blue eyes turned icy cold, her cheeks began to hollow and as she lifted up her petite hand, her bony fingers ushered me closer. Frantically I looked around for anyone to help and I realized the shop only had children, obese children violently stuffing their mouths with handfuls of nauseating candy. As I looked for a way out I saw the things that my brain had initially overlooked. There were no windows in the shop, the children were sad and slow, none of them were actually laughing instead they were shoving candy into their mouths and yet you could hear laughter.

Panic stricken I looked back at what use to be a woman, now she was taller, bonier, and her previously lilac dress had become floor length and turned a dark red color just like her wicked laugh. There was no one to save me from the monster in the candy shop.

(A/N) I wrote this in English Class and I was inspired by Gabriel's character. How he fits into this story is up to you. Maybe he's the monster in disguise? Maybe it's from his point of view? Maybe he's set up another trick?

Find out in next week's (months? Years? Idk, I'm bad at uploading) episode! (I'm kidding idk where this is going but if you guys want a continuation I can work on it?)
