"The days are long but the years are short"
No, that's not what happened.
The years are excruciatingly long
And the days are a routine
Of waking and missing you
and then sleeping to try to forget
but in my dreams you're still there
Everything is still there
As if everything is still fine
Like before
Because everything was better before
But the years somehow passed
And those memories and feelings brought me here
In front of you
And I thought everything was fine again
You smile
You laugh
You talk about the things you did
But not like before
The hints were subtle
But my senses picked it up one by one
Slowly
Like I don't want to see the reality
And tonight I keep replaying the things you've done today
And I remembered you did not welcomed me with a warm smile
You welcomed me with a cold sigh
That felt like you were carrying a huge burden
And that burden is me
And I was welcomed by a force, fake excitement and happiness
That seemed everything that happened before was forgotten
Even though before was better
And I hope for you, not better forgotten
