This town

Chapter 22

The tour was over and Val and Sharna were spending a couple of days together, away from LA. They rented a house for a couple of days and stayed there. Just enjoy spending time together. 

"What are we going to do about upcoming season?" Sharna asked. They were laying on the couch together, watching a movie. Sharna had her feet curled under her and her head was laying on Val's legs. He was playing with her hair. 

"What do you mean?"

"I mean what to do with our relationship status. There is a fairly big chance we are going to be paired up with hot single people. And that the show might push for a showmance."

"I have a feeling you have already thought about it, so what is your opinion."

Sharna got up from her laying position and looked Val in the eyes. "I would like to keep our relationship for ourselves for a little time. It feels really good, don't get me wrong, but I want to be a little further in our relationship before we tell everyone. And with the possible showmance, I trust you. I think we just have to tell each other everything and try to deny it as much as possible. At least to the media. And if it really becomes too much, we can always tell them we are dating."

"You know, I would have loved to tell the world that I finally have you, but I see that you want to wait. So we'll wait. And don't worry about a showmance, it happened to me once and I'll do everything I can not to led that happen again. And indeed if it gets out of hand, we'll tell everybody. But I trust you no matter what, even if they give you a hot single model, I know that nothing will happen." 

Sharna put her head back down on Val's legs. Afterwards Sharna said: "Well, if it is a hot single model, I might have to act upon it. I mean..." 

The moment she had said that, Val started to tickle Sharna. 

"No, please, stop! Val, please!" Sharna was squirming, trying to get away from Val's hands. But he made sure she didn't get away. 

"I'm sorry Val. It was a joke." 

Finally he stopped. Val leaned over and kissed Sharna on her forehead. "I know it was babe. I just love tickling you." 

Sharna turned her face towards him and gave him a semi-angry semi-laughing face, with pouting lips. Val kissed her lips and when he tried to pull away. Sharna held him by his hair and deepened the kiss.

Val and Sharna were told they would meet their partners on the same day. But neither of them would be staying in LA. They hadn't gotten any details about their destination yet, but they did knew they had to get out of town. They would stay there for one night and then they would go to NYC, for GMA. 

They were picked up at the same time to go to LAX, both having their bags ready for a couple of days. At the airport they got their tickets for their flights. Sharna had to fly out to Texas, while Val was going to NYC. 

"So we are not even close," Sharna said, while they were drinking their coffee and waiting for her flight to be called.

"Well, at least I'll already have an hotel room in NYC when you arrive. So no matter what time of day it is, or whether I'm in it or not. You can go there and sleep."

"If you're not there, I'll probably come and find you."

Val gave her a kiss on her lips. Then they heard the call for Sharna's flight to board. Val walked her to the gate and saw her go on the plane. He slowly walked back towards his gate. 

He didn't show it to Sharna, but he was a little nervous for his partner. He really hoped he wasn't getting a hot, single girl. He knew Sharna would trust him no matter what, but he didn't want to lie to everybody if they asked him if he was dating. He also hoped he would be dancing with someone who was staying in the LA area. For that way he could sleep with Sharna at night and he would have more time to rehearse.

Val was just back in his hotel room after having met his partner. He knew Sharna had also met her partner and they would facetime each other to tell about their partners. Val really hoped Sharna had some good news about her partner, because he surely had some bad news. 

He saw the incoming call and answered. He was glad to see Sharna's face, but at the same time he was sad he couldn't kiss her.

"Hey babe, how has your day been?"

"Well, my partner is not too bad. I only have one problem. He is hot, single... and a model..." 

"A model, damn, that is the only person I said you couldn't dance with." But the smile on his face told her he was joking. "But tell me a little more about him? I need to know my competition." 

This time it was Sharna who started laughing. "Well first off, he is no competition to you. I can tell you that much. But he is a professional bull rider, who had a massive accident a year ago, during which he broke his neck. And massive surgery following the accident. And like I said he is also a model. And how is your partner?" 

"Well, that sounds not too bad. But I'm glad you told me he is no competition. And my partner is already an amazing dancer, Normani from Fifth Harmony. But there is only one problem. She is on tour during the first four weeks of the show.... on tour in Asia." 

"Asia?"

"Yes, Asia. So that means I have to go to Asia in the first four weeks after the show on Monday and only come back on Sundays."

"No way. So that means I won't be seeing you at all during the week. When do you have to go?"

"We leave two weeks before the show."

"No... I don't like that."

"I don't like it either, but unfortunately I have no choice."

"I know you don't, but I still feel bad for myself."

"Well, you have the cowboy to keep you company..."

"Seriously?! If I had the possibility I would hit you on the chest right now."

"I know you would, that's why I'm making the joke right now, because you can't hit me."

"Don't worry, I'll remember it."

"Damn it. But what have you done today, despite meeting your partner?"

"Well, I drove a horse again in a very long time. Or, actually, I just sat on it for most part. But it felt amazing. I felt like myself again as a child. I seriously loved riding horses, but in LA that is a hard thing to do."

"I would have loved to see that. But that will be a plus about your cowboy. Because I surely can't ride a horse."

"Stop talking about him. I don't want to think it right now. I just want to talk to you. About your day, about my day. Nothing more, nothing less."

"Then that's a deal."

The phone call continued and they ended with saying their goodbyes, knowing they would see each other tomorrow.

The moment the call was ended Val opened his internet and went looking for 'Bonner Bolton'. No matter what Sharna said, he still had to know who was going to dance with his girlfriend. The moment he saw the first picture appear on the screen, he knew the producers were going to push for a showmance. That boy was hot as hell and from his quick look on the internet, Val noticed he was single. 

He knew Sharna said that Bonner was no competition, but still Val didn't like it. Sharna had too many guys in her live right now, who all seemed interested in her, or could be interested in her. Pierson, Bonner and of course himself. He was really happy he got her back in time, because otherwise she might have developed feelings for someone else.

The only thing which was comforting was that Sharna would never cheat on him, he knew that this was something completely against her principles.

Val decided he would go to bed. Tomorrow he would spend the day with the girls from Fifth Harmony, to get to know them. And maybe spend some time with Normani on the dancing. And he hoped that tonight he could take Sharna out to dinner or something else. He didn't really care what they would do, as long as he could spend some time with her.
