~Val's POV~

He knew he was early at the airport, but he rather waited a little while then being too late. On the flight info he saw that her flight would arrive in 30 minutes, which would give him more than enough time to get himself a drink.

No matter how much he tried, Val hadn't been able to relax. Even though he knew that Sharna was alright, he was too worried about her. He needed to see her, hold her, before he would be able to rest.

After he finished his drink he walked to the terminal were Sharna would arrive any minute now. He could not wait to hug and kiss her. Even though it had only been 24 hours they had been apart, it felt so much longer.

Finally the doors opened and Val watched the first people come out. He was looking for a red-head, his red-head. And finally, only the second time the door opened, he saw her. Her hair was up in a messy bun and all her make-up had been wiped off, she was wearing leggings and a sweater, which he recognized was his at one point. But she was by far the most beautiful girl in the room right now.

He saw her looking around, searching for him.

"Sharna," he said. She looked up and immediately locked eyes with him. The moment she did a smile appeared on her face, and at the same time her eyes started to water.

It felt as they were moving together as in slow motion, but neither of them wanted to raise attention by running at each other. Finally after what felt like eternity, Val pulled Sharna close to him in a hug. She hid her face in his shoulder and Val wanted nothing more than to stay like this forever.

Val put his face in her hair, making it look even messier, but at least he was able to smell her right now. As always it was amazing to have her this close to him. They stayed like this together, until the people arriving at the same time as Sharna had already left.

Finally they broke apart and Val put Sharna's face between his hands. She smiled at him and Val felt butterflies in his stomach. Every time she smiled at him, made him fall in love with her even more. He had no idea that was possible, but she made it happen. At that exact moment he realized how lucky he was that she had been willing to give him a second chance.

He slowly closed the space between them and he put his lips on hers. It was the first time they had kissed in a public space. But Val knew that is was alright when Sharna answered his kiss. They broke apart not much later and Val took Sharna's bag and her hand in his other hand. And like that they walked back to his car.

At Val's place they went to bed immediately, but instead of sleeping they cuddled together in bed. Sharna had put her head on Val's chest and Val was brushing his fingers through her hair.

"Feeling better?" he asked. It was the first time they talked about the incident since Sharna had landed.

"This makes everything feel better, lying with you in bed. Feeling your heart beat in your chest, your fingers in my hair. And knowing that he isn't here. Seriously, how did he ever find me? How could he know I was there?"

Sharna had looked up from his chest, when she was asking those questions and Val really wished he knew the answers to that.

"I have no clue how he found out. I really wished I could say it was just pure luck, but I don't think that is the case. But next time he shows up, and I have a chance to talk to him. I swear I'm going to get the answers. Because he is in no way done with me yet."

"Thank you for being this protective and if I didn't want to know it myself I would have stopped you."

"I know you don't like being protected, but still if I date you, something this amazing and this beautiful, I want to protect this."
