I get greeted with a happy Kendall at campus outside the little coffee shop, he leans in to kiss me but I turn the other way and he kisses my cheek instead. I don't know what has gotten into me.

He decides to not react to it and we go join the the little crowd of friends.

"Guess who's back!" James says to Kendall eagerly.

"Who?" Kendall asks not a single bit interested.

"Victoria!" the name causes everyone to talk over each other and they all kinda look at Kendall who tenses up a bit at the mention of the name.

"Who's Victoria?" I ask completely lost on what's happening.

"Her." Dustin points to the girl walking towards us a tall skinny girl with a huge smile.

"Kendall!" She literally jumps on Kendall and hugs him. She was tall enough to rest her chin on his shoulder. "God I missed you so much! There's so much we need to catch up on!" The hug lasted longer than usual.

"Yeah," Kendall awkwardly hugs back.

"It's been son long!" She stands between Kendall and I. Causing Logan go give me a sympathetic look like she's my competition and I lost already.

"Oh who's this?" She looks down at me while grabbing onto Kendall's arm.

"She's Rebecca." Kendall plainly introduces me.

The whole group had a sudden change of mood when Victoria showed up with her good vibes.

"I gotta go." I dismiss myself from the group who kept talking about Victoria and her amazing holiday - who still had a grips around Kendall's arm.

I refuse Logan's offer to walk me to class, hoping Kendall would, but doesn't.

I walk to class, tempted to look back if Kendall is still there or not but I decide against it with tiny hope that he'll come after me.

The long day seems short when I go to my car after my last class of the day.

"What are you doing here?" I say to Kendall who leaned against my car.

"Waiting for you." His arms folded.

"Why? don't you need to catch up with Victoria."

"She's in class."

"Oh I see, I'm your 'backup girl'" I make air quotes on the last to words.

"No, you're my only girl." His words give me an overwhelming feeling, causing butterflies in my stomach.

He grabs me by the wrist and pulls me closer. "God I love it how you blush." He leans down towards me. "what's wrong?" He asks when I don't say anything.

"This." I gesture between us.

"This? How is this wrong?" He let's go of me and I take a step back.

"How do I know that this is real? That I'm not one of your side chicks?" I say, not wanting this conversation to turn into an argument.

"How do you want me to prove that this is real?" If it was the real thing I don't think it would need to be proved. "I don't know."

"Maybe you need to figure out what you want. Since you need all the convincing done."

"I want this." I half plead.

"It didn't seem like it today." He looks hurt.

"I was scared." Realising how pathetic my excuse is. "Scared that you will act different towards me in front of your friends and you'd be embarrassed to be seen with me."

"But you were the one who was being different. It seemed like you were the one who didn't want to be seen with me." He points out.

"I know, and it's not like that. I'm sorry." I play with the keys in my hand.

"Come here." He opens his arms out and I walk into them for a hug, my head against his chest, while he's rests his chin on my head.

"I'll see you after you finish your shift?"

I had a short shift at the cafe in an hour. "But it's a school night."

"Don't worry, I'll have you home by 10. Alright?" I give a nod, feeling glad that I had all my extra work already done.

"Can I at least go home and get changed?" Kendall opens the door for me. "It doesn't matter, and we don't have much time."

I had finished my shift at 6.30 giving us only 4 and a half hours together.

"Ok where are we going then?" I couldn't tell by Kendall's outfit, since he practically always wore black jeans and a jacket over his tee.

"Where do you think." He takes his eyes of the road and gives me a smirk.

We go down the familiar path down to the separate area of the beach, that not a lot if people knew about.

This will always be my favourite spots and these no doubt in that when I take in the familiar surrounding as I stood at the edge of the shore line.

"What are you thinking about?" Kendall joins me and gives me a little bump.

A lot. "Nothing." I smile. "Are you going to play that or what?" I point to the green guitar lying on the blanket by the little fire.

Kendall leads me to blanket and gestures me to sit down. "You said you needed proof."

"No, you don't need to prove -"

"Sshh" Kendall places his finger on my lips.

He takes the guitar and starts strumming a too familiar tune.

He takes a breathe in and starts.

"Lately I been, I been losing sleep

Dreaming about the things that we could be..."

His sweet melodious voice leaves me shocked and my heart melts. I always knew Kendall had talent but this good that leaves goosebumps, I never knew. Then again I didn't know much about the new Kendall.

"We'll be, we'll be counting stars." Kendall finishes the song, taking bits out of it.

"I've never done this before." He admits, placing the guitar down and resting his head on my lap. I look down at him in awe as he looks nervous and adorable.

"You should sing more often." I suggest, running my hand through his spiked up blonde hair.

He moves next to me and we both lay down looking up at the night sky.

Yay, a Rendall (Rebecca & Kendall's ship name) moment. Vote for it if you liked it!

I'll try my best to update tomorrow, if not you'll have to wait till Friday or the weekends :)
