(Sorry about any spelling mistakes Im to tired to proof read and I just want to get this out because LIPPA AM I RIGHT😂❤️)The future is a great thing, as kids when we hear future we think 'flying cars' and 'jet packs' and if you didn't don't worry, maybe you had your own perception on the future. I'm not here to judge, I'm hear to tell a story.
As adults the future can mean many things. It can mean where you're going to live after moving out of your parents. It can mean marriage and children. It can mean what career path you're going to take, maybe you'll be a doctor, perhaps you'll be a teacher or even, a broadway star.
He became a broadway star, a writer for Disney, the creator of a hip hop musical, a tony winner. Yes you know whom I'm talking about, Lin Manuel Miranda...
They say the future is brighter, but after Hamilton it seemed to dim for Mr. Miranda. His future after he became a divorcee, just before Amelié debut, it was mutual and he has shared custody of his son. Vanessa and him are on good terms.
She and her ex husband are not. The break out star from Juilliard to Natasha Pierre to Hamilton to Amélie took the broadway world into the palm of her hands with her bright smile and refreshing aura. Yes, the talented and beautiful Phillipa Soo. She married but soon realized people don't really change and divorced. He's been harassing her since.
But now, in the present they sit across from each other laughing like they did in their dressing rooms back at the Richard Rodgers. Her cheeks have become a little lower but her smile still lights up. He's got some fine lines around his eyes, much like her but they still get lost in each others eyes from staring to long. His smile lines are more evident and her collar bones are clearer but she finds him handsome as ever and he finds her as beautiful as she always was.
"So Mr. EGOT... what's next?" She asks, he chuckles. "I'm not sure but I was thinking ever since I got divorced I haven't had time to look for love so maybe that's what's next" he says taking a sip of water. "What about you beautiful?" He says, they have definitely matured so gestures that may have been flirtatious long ago like amorous names or holding hands over the table are now simple pleasures. "I wasn't quite sure till now" Phillipa says.
"Pippa, do you remember that tweet where I said "the easiest jobs I ever had was falling in love with you every night?" He asks as they walk down the street arms linked together. "Gosh that would've been... what thirteen years ago?" She responds, he smiles kissing her head. "Indeed, I really meant it you know" he says, she smiles. "I know you did, you mean everything you say Lin" she says, he smiles again.
"Pippa, did you enjoy dinner tonight?" He asks as they stand on her front porch. "I did, I'm glad I got to see you. I've... missed you. More then I'd like to admit" she says quietly, her words almost escape with the small winds brushing past them. "I've missed you too, I never expected you to be so beautiful, it's like I'm still looking at the young women that used to sing helpless to me" he says back, no one is listening but they whisper.
"Well then in that case..." she looks up and kisses him, softly but just like they used to, over a decade ago. "Betsey..." he says with there forehead pressed against each other. "Alexander" she returns with a small giggle, but not a young giggle, a wise giggle. "I only wish we had done this years ago, you probably don't want spend your time with an old man" he says sadly. "Lin, there's no one else I'd rather be with" she says, his smile lines shine clearing and the fine lines come back again as he smiles down at the beautiful women in front of him.
"Dinner tomorrow then?" He asks, she smiles. "Yes, and bring Seb. I want to see him, he's sixteen now" she says, he nods, holding her nape and bringing her closer, kissing her forehead tenderly. "Aideu, best of wives and best of women" he says, she smiles. "You're not dying, and I'm not your wife" she says, it's not hurtful or brash, its playful. "But you were once, and I can say now that I hope you will be again someday" he says not wasting time like the 37 year old him did. "I love you" Phillipa says, he grins. "I love you too" he returns as she shuts her door and walks off into the New York night.
The future is bright for these two, but You didn't need me to tell you that...
