The marine biologist

     Lin was taking his son, Seb, to a marine park. He needed to distract the young boy from the divorce him and his mother is going through. "Daddy! Can we go see the dolphins?" He asks, tugging on his fathers hand. "Sure buddy" he said, he took his son. They sat alone infront of the dolphin tank.

   "Daddy look a mermaid!" Seb pointed, he looked over and saw a women getting into a tank. "Seb that's not a mermaid, she's a marine biologist" Lin explained. "What?" His son responds. "She's really smart and loves dolphins" he says, his sons smiles. Seb runs up to the glass and waves. As soon she spots him she waves back, Lin now behind him looks at the women, she had on wet suit pants and a black bikini top, he brown hair flowing in the water behind her.

   The dolphin swam up to her happily, tapping her gently with his nose, almost like a dog would like you when they saw you. Her and the dolphin swam gracefully, every so often the biologist would go up for air. Both Lin and His son we mesmerized. She swam up to the glass wall, she pointed upwards mouthing the words "come up to the upper display". Of course Seb didn't get it but Lin did.

   "She wants us to go upstairs, come on" Lin says, when they get up there Pippa is standing waiting, dripping waiting. "Hi" she says happily. "I'm Phillipa Soo but you can call me Pippa" she said, he smiled. "I'm Lin Manuel Miranda, call me Lin and this is my soon Sebastian" he says. "Call me Seb!" The young boy says excitedly. "Well Seb I noticed you liked dolphins" she said squatting down to his level. "Yes I really do!" He agreed. "Well if it's okay with your..." she stopped and looked up not wanting assume, he mouthed 'dad' to her. "If it's okay with your dad I'm sure my dolphin friend tobillo would let you pet him" she said smiling. Seb turned to Lin. "Please! Padre please!" He asked, Lin nodded. "Of course but make sure you thank Pippa" Lin said.

   Seb wasted no time hugging Pippa tightly. "Oh!" She said as she felt the little boy but smiled and hugged him back. "Seb that's not what I meant.." Lin sighed, she looked up. "Don't worry I don't mind" she said, he smiled. "Alright, lets go meet Tobillo huh?" She questioned, Seb jumped once.

   She led Seb and Lin to the top of the tank. "Okay wait here and please be careful near the edge Seb" she warned, he nodded and Lin smiled, grateful for her parental nature. She quickly got in and swam down, bringing the dolphin back up with her. "Tobillo this is Seb and Lin" Pippa said, she used a cue with her fingers and the dolphin made a few sounds.

"Okay be careful leaning" she said helping Seb pet the dolphin. "I think she likes you" Pippa said, Seb laughed. "Daddy why don't you try?" Seb said, Lin smiled and reached over. "Here?" He asked Pippa, she took his hand and let the dolphin with him. "Here" she said letting his hand go gently.

"Seb before you go do you want a dolphin kiss?" Pippa asks, he nods. "Okay stay still" she says, getting Tobillos attention she taps her lips then points to Seb, the dolphin swims over giving him a kiss before diving back in the water. Seb laughed and smiled, Pippa got out of the tank. "Thank you Pippa!" He said, she smiled getting one last hug doing her best not to get him wet with tank water. Lin stepped forward as she stood up. "Thank you, you've really made his day. More then you know" he said, he reached for his wallet. "No no, please. I won't take money" she said, he sighed. "Then how am I suppose to thank you?" He asked, she opened her arms, he chuckled and hugged her. "Just make you sure you come back soon" she said...

   A week later Lin walked out the courthouse, the divorce finalized. "Lin... thank you for everything. I still love just not like..." he stopped her. " I know, thank you aswell. How about you take Seb for the weekend. He can meet David" he suggested. "You're okay with that?" She asked, he nodded. "You've moved on and deserve to be happy with someone, let Seb meet him" he confirmed. They shared a quick hug and she left.

   He had no clue what to do with himself now. 'Just make sure you come back soon' he smiled at the memory. Who was he to break a promise?

   He walked into the very empty marine park, appropriate for a Monday. As he turned the under ground tunnel he saw her once again in the tank with Tobillo, he walked over. It took her a minute to notice him but when she did her heart started beating faster. She waved and pointed upwards, he already knew what that meant.

   He went upstairs and she was just getting out of the tank. "Lin! You came back" she said almost hugging him but stopped. "Maybe not... hold on let me change" she said, he nodded as she disappeared. She came back out in beige coloured shorts, a button up beige shirt with the marine parks logo where a breast project would be with a black tank top underneath.

   "So what brings you back?" She says, Pippa had offered a tour of the park which he gladly agreed to. "Well if I'm going to be honest my ex wife has Seb tonight and I wasn't sure what to do with myself" he said and chuckled. "I'm sorry to hear things didn't work out" she says, he smiled. He took her hand gently, it was a risk but maybe, just maybe she wouldn't mind.

   She didn't mind one bit, she blushed too. "So Pippa, what's your story?" Lin asked. "Well I moved here when I was about 19, I got into a really good marine biology school. Then after that I worked on beach patrol for a little and now I work here" she said, Lin smiled and they talked back and forth.

   It had been a few hours and they were now sitting on a wall, no a large one, one that separated the wall way from an empty tank. "Did you enjoy the dolphins last time?" She asked, he nodded. "Indeed I did but I must say, I wanted a kiss too" he said, she chuckled. "Why didn't you say anything when we were at the dolphin tank?" She asks, he smirks. "I wasn't talking about the dolphins" he says looking at her. "What?....oh" she says realizing he meant her. "Oh!" She stutters and looks down blushing. "I'm going to assume from your red cheeks you wouldn't mind?" He questioned, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "I wouldn't mind" she said quietly, he gently pulled her closer and kissed her slowly.

     From then on Seb got to see the dolphins real often...
