"Okay" Phil stood up and motioned to the back door him walking outside first Dan slowly following.

They made their way to the pool and sat at the edge, rolling up their jeans, taking off their shoes, and letting their feet sit in the freezing cold water. Why they did that hell knows why.

"What is it, Dan?" Phil asked looking at the water moving around his calves.

"What is your problem with me? What did I do to make you hate me so bad?" Dan looked over to Phil who stared at the water. "I want an answer."

"Charlie." Was the only answer Dan got.

"What you mean Charlie Skies? The school quarterback? What did he do to make you hate me so much?" Dan didn't take his eyes away from Phil, who eventually gave in and looked into Dans hurt filled eyes.

"He.. he told me that you told Cat I was worthless, naive, stupid, I was a horrible person, I didn't mean anything, you hated me-"

"I don't hate you!" Dan snapped, interrupting the boy, whose eyes shown a bright blue for some odd reason. "It's quite the opposite actually.. but why would you believe him Phil?"

"I don't know!" Phil stood up. "I don't know. I guess I just thought-"

"You didn't trust me. That's what. You didn't trust me enough to ask me if it was true."

"No that's not it, Dan! I trusted you! I told you everything about myself!" Phil snapped back turning around to meet Dan. "I just thought maybe if you hated me, I'd have a reason to hate myself."

"Phil...-" Dan was cut off.

"Dan when was the last time you ate"

Dan stayed silent for a few seconds, minutes, it felt like an eternity to Phil. "I didn't deserve to eat."

"Jesus Dan! We all need to eat! How do you think I felt? I haven't been able to sleep because I hurt you, but I ate. Sure it was just mainly ice cream with Martyn but at least I ate something!"

"I didn't deserve it after you stopped talking to me. But Phil, listen to me right now. You are not worthless, naive, stupid, you mean everything, and I love you-" Dan froze.

It was 11:55

"You- you love me?" Phil looked startled, he absolutely did not expect to hear that coming out of Dans mouth tonight.

"I-I'm sorry I didn't mean- ugh I'm so stupid!" Dan turned around and faced the pool, the water glowing slightly.

"You're not stupid actually." Phil walked up and wrapped his arms around Dans now thin waist.

"You're smart, you're a great human being, beautiful, amazing, the best friend everyone needs, you're you. I love you Dan" Phil had his head resting on top of Dans. "And I'm sorry. I'm sorry I ignored you, I'm sorry for everything I did to you."

"I never wanted to hurt you.. I'm sorry.. I'm so so sorry." Phil hugged him to his body.

"Phil..." Dan slowly turned around into the hug.

"Yeah Dan?"

"Do you really love me?"
