Chapter 14

Phil woke up before Dan that morning, it was currently 10:02 in the morning and Dan was stretched out along the bed being comfortable as he could be.

"Oh my god" Phil whispered a laugh as he looked at Dan spread out on the bed. "Remind me to make fun of this later" he told himself as he took a picture, there was a shutter sound that came from his phone and Dan groaned whilst rolling into his side, letting Phil slide back onto his side of the bed.

'Dan really was adorable in his sleep' Phil thought to himself as he kissed Dans cheek.

"Hm? What?" Dan mumbled as he turned over to face Phil, his boyfriend. 'Boyfriend... that has a nice ring to it... soulmate, my soulmate.. that sounds better' Dan smiled "good morning soulmate."

"You really like calling me soulmate huh?" Phil smiled. They had explained everything to both families the previous night.

"I do" Dan smiled back. "Because I can do this-" he pushed Phil off the bed, got up and ran for the stairs,"and you'll still love me!"

"HEY!" Phil called from the room, laughing. He got up and ran for the stairs as well. "Get back here! I will throw you in the pool!"

"Oh good morning boys!" Carrie called from the kitchen. "I'm making breakfast it should be done in a few!"

"Thanks mum!" Dan called as he made his way running to the living room, Phil chasing him. "No! Stay away!" he laughed as Phil grabbed his waist and hugged him to him.

"Gotcha!" Phil laughed and kissed Dans cheek. "Time to go in the pool."

"No!" Dan laughed, their play time being interrupted but two different laughs coming from the couch, "Oh... hey Barry, Iris." he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Aw don't stop just because of us, it's cute." Iris smiled at the soulmates, they were in fact a perfect match.

"So do your friends know you're together?" Barry asked. "They called you, the house phone, and for some reason mine trying to see if you were okay."

"They did?" Dan walked into the living room and sat on the one across from the two.

"Yeah it was PJ and Louise." Barry nodded

Phil looked to Dan and Dan met his eyes, "are you thinking what I'm thinking?" he smirked.

"Pranking our friends? Then I believe so." Phil chuckled.

"That is so cruel on so many levels but hell, I'm in." Barry laughed as Iris scoffed a laugh at him.

"It won't be anything too extreme, just a little stage scene. A stage slap." Dan quickly thought. "I got an idea!"

    School started once again for all the teens, sure it was hard not to stay up until the break of dawn but the wait was worth it, Dan and Phil's plan was thrown to action.

It was around lunch time, right after their Japanese class. Phil, Chris, PJ, and Louise sat down at what they claimed to be their table  and pulled out their lunches.

Dan went through the lunch line and got a school lunch that day just so he could slam it on the table and scare them.

Dan slammed the tray on the table and it took everything in his mind not to laugh at the startled faces. "Phil, that's it I've had it." Dan had been eating regularly for a while now so he began to slowly gain back his healthy weight. "I want you to tell me why you hate me so goddamn much."

"Dan, I don't think-" Louise tried to talk to him but he interrupted her words.

"No. I need answers right now." Phil stood up to match Dans height although Phil was about an inch or two taller.

They had a huge fake fight going back and forth, yelling insults that didn't actually mean anything, attracting the whole cafeteria to their facade until it came to the stage punch. The two boys had planned for Phil to throw a fake punch and make it look like it had hit Dan, instead it actually did. Phil readied his fist and threw it forward hitting Dan right in the cheek.

"Phil!" Chris stood up ready to go to Dans aid.

"Oh shit, I didn't mean to hit you." Phil grabbed Dans hand and pulled him closer to looked at his face,"Are you okay?"

"Yes, Philly, I'm fine." Dan laughed slightly as Phil kissed his cheek.

"Sorry" Phil winced as he hovered his hand over the now brushing area, making Dan wince.

"I'm sorry, what is happening here?" PJ stood up.

"I lost it when you kissed his cheek." Louise interjected. The teens of the cafeteria had long gone back to their seats, probably to gossip about what happened.

"Oh yeah, here's the thing." Dan looked to Phil who pulled him into a kiss forcing faded glowing to surround both of them.

"Are you-" Chris froze. "Soulmates? Oh my god! You had me going there for a minute." Chris laughed, "wow a fake fight scene. That ended horribly."

"Oh my god! You two scared me!" Louise sighed but chuckled, "I didn't know what to do when Phil hit you oh my goodness" she was like a scared mum. She walked over to Dan and hugged him.

"So you sorted yourselves out over New Years?" PJ hugged Dan as well, the last three to four weeks were crazy.

"Oh yeah, you should ask Barry for the video he got of us. The ending is pretty hilarious." Phil chuckled.

"Wait he got that?! Oh I am so kicking his ass." Dan grumbled as they all took their seats, Dan pulling out his lunch box in the process.

"Wait, you had a lunch box this entire time but you got a lunch tray why?" Chris questioned as he ate his food, "wait, ohhhhh you wanted a dramatic effect okay okay, I got it"

"First, Chris how many times have we told you to eat with your mouth closed, second, yes." Dan laughed.

The group of four got along well again, doing all the catching up they needed. Louise informed them Matt was off for vacation a little while longer and everything was good.

But everything would either get better or worse.
