-Scott-

"So you're Stiles' best friend?" Isaac asks as he grips my hand. I look over at him, nodding. "It didn't even cross my mind to think that maybe his best friend could be my mate."

I shrug. "I wouldn't have expected you to. There's so many wolves that compete in the Hunt, it's a slim chance that it could have happened. Don't worry."

"I was stressed about what Stiles was talking about so I didn't even think to consider it."

I chuckle. "I should have guessed that he'd tell you."

"He told you?" Isaac exclaims.

I nod. "He was ranting about it when I visited him yesterday."

I'm overjoyed about the fact that we're all mated to each-others friends. No one will be separated. Derek can now ascend the throne and end this stupid game that is incredibly popular for the more older Were's.

I wonder how his parents are going to take it. I know he has enough common sense not to announce his plans to abolish the 'game' before ascending, because once he does his parents have no power over what he wants to do.

"Where are we going?" he asks me.

"We're going to celebrate with everyone then we'll head home and get you settled." He nods and I smile. He's absolutely adorable, and I can tell that he does not want to let go of my hand at all. I'm not going to pull away from his hand either.

"Scott!" Erica yells. I barely know her, a mere acquaintance, but I have a feeling that because her mate, Boyd, is close friends with Isaac and Stiles, I will be seeing more of her.

"Hey Isaac," Boyd mumbles to him. I immediately knew that he wasn't going to be much of a talker.

"Are you two coming with us and the two super-hot princes for a celebratory lunch?" Erica grins.

"Of course. We're both close friends with Stiles, and I'm close with Derek too."

"I'm so excited to be in the close group with the princes."

"Stiles will have a fit when he finds out that everyone is calling him 'Prince'." He's not going to be used to it at all. I'm worried about how he's going to settle in at the castle, what with all the rules and expectations. He's a seventeen year old with ADHD, it's going to be very hard for him to follow rules.

"Where are they?" Erica asks, looking around the courtyard. It seems that the media also are trying to find the two of them.

"They're looking for Stiles' father," I tell her. "It's customary after all."

She nods. "What about you two?" she asks. "Shouldn't you be meeting each other's parents?"

"Isaac will meet my mum after lunch, but not his father."

"Why?"

"It's personal, Erica, leave it," Boyd says. He must know too. Isaac said that his close friends all knew about the situation, but not in such vivid detail as Isaac explained to me.

"THERE THEY ARE!"

Stiles and Derek approach us, Stiles' face hidden in the crook of Derek's neck. He despises attention, and this is no doubt the most terrifying thing he has experienced.

"Guys," Derek huffs. "Let's get some food. The bacon is not nearly enough for Stiles and I want to make sure he's okay before heading back to the castle."

"Good idea, I'm pretty hungry too," I say. "Let's go."

We head into the main street where there are people milling about waiting to find out about the Hunt. A lot of eyes drift over to Stiles and Derek.

I'm actually really happy that Stiles and Derek are mates because I know that he and his father will be treated well, and I know Derek will cherish his mate. He's been alone for so long that he's – even though he denies it – been pining for his mate.

"Hey Stiles," I get his attention and his head whips around to look at me. "How'd it go with your dad?"

"Good," he lets out breathlessly. "He's gone home to get our clothes and other valuables before being escorted to the castle."

"Sounds fancy," Isaac says.

"It's crazy," he huffs looking at Derek. "But, I'm surprisingly happy about the idea of being mated to Der."

Derek rolls his eyes and slides his arm around Stiles' waist, holding him close. A sense of somewhat competitiveness overwhelms me and I wrap my arm around Isaac's waist too, pressing him to my side.

Derek seems to have noticed and is smirking at me. I just roll my eyes and we continue the walk to our favourite little café at the corner of the main street.

"Scott," Isaac whispers and I look at him. "I don't have any money."

I smile warmly at him. "I'm going to pay babe." He blushes and nods. "I'm going to take care of you, you know that right?"

"Of course."

"Good."
