PART EIGHT

monday morning, the weekend after the justin/jessica break up.

the weekend monica's life turned to shit.

she walked through the junior hallway, most people giving her looks as she walked by, trying to get to her locker.

she sighed as she arrived, ignoring everyone's eyes. she wanted to not care like usual, but she just couldn't.

why? because she hung around justin, and apparently it was her fault.

just cause they were friends automatically means they're dating.

yep, she thought, yep you're all right. im obviously wrong.

she rolled her eyes and pulled out her history textbook and slammed her locker shut, looking to see jeff beside her.

she strolled off from her locker, jeff atkins trailing beside her. "well good morning to you too."

"you're hilarious, jeff."

"seriously, good morning." he smiled as the two stopped beside the cafeteria, waiting in the coffee and breakfast line.

"it's not a good morning if your name has been in everyone's mouth at least once so far today."

jeff sighed as the two moved up in line, "no one cares about jessica's stupid little rumor-"

monica laughed as she grabbed a cup from the coffee station. "it's the highlight of the week."

"everyone knows it isn't true."

"and i'm sure everyone wants to know what it's like to fuck a virgin." monica ended their conversation, sipping on her decaf coffee. two creams and two sugars.

monica soon trudged her way to her locker after a long fourth block, exhausted. she was already tired of school and it was only monday.

the mondayest monday ever.

she reopened her locker for the second time that day and placed her textbook inside. she picked up her vera bradley lunch box and her algebra text book to put in her bag.

once she zipped it up, she shut her locker getting ready to head to history.

until she saw her brother down the hall, towering over alex standall.

"i dont know what you're talking about, monty." alex rolled his eyes, staring at the tall boy in front of him.

"really? you didn't text my sister yesterday?"

"ya i did," alex spoke, "and you know what, i don't regret a word i typed."

montgomery grabbed alex by the shirt and pinned him against the locker.

"look here, standall. you don't text monica, ever again-"

alex chuckled. monty slammed a punch into his jaw.

"fuck," alex grabbed the side of his face as he landed on the floor, wiping the blood from his mouth.

monica quickly ran to grab montgomery's arm, pulling him backwards.

"don't ever say shit to a person you don't know," montgomery yelled, tugging his arm out of his sister's grasp.

alex stood up, throwing a punch into montgomery's nose, a sickening crack echoing through the halls.

the students cried "oooo". monica tried again to get her brother away from the situation.

"fuck you, alex." he muffled, wiping his own blood onto his sleeve.

"let's go monty," monica whispered, grabbing her brothers arm. "fuck bleach blonde losers."

montgomery laughed as the two went down to the nurse to get his nose cleaned up. then after, a long talk at hackett's office.

monica sat outside, alone, at lunch. she mindlessly chewed on her peanut butter and jelly, scrolling through her twitter feed.

she felt someone sit beside her, unrolling a brown paper bag.

she tapped on snapchat, opening a snap from her 165 day streak with hannah baker.

monica stuck her tongue out at the camera, "hey foley."

"mo," his mouth was full.

she locked her phone and turned to him, crossing one leg over the other. "how's it goin'?"

"you know, just about to fuck an inexperienced slut."

"ah so you've heard."

he sighed, staring the girl in the eyes. seeing the hurt behind her blue irises. "you know, mo, i don't why you let it bother you so much."

"i try not to because i don't have this 'rock' everyone talks about. this person that is someone's shoulder to cry on. i don't own one of those." she threw the rest of her sandwich in her lunch bag. "i never bother montgomery with my problems, except for yesterday. yesterday i broke just a little."

"i don't want your pretty little heart broken."

"then come and fix me."

justin smirked and chuckled softly, looking at the twin beside him. "we didn't even have sex, people are dumb crazy."

monica laughed. "you cant judge me though, cause if you did, foley i would judge you too."

"what's there to judge, mo?"

monica blushed and ran a hand through her hair. her heart finally felt swelled with happiness after her horrible weekend events.

could justin be this rock? this shoulder to cry on?

she leaned her head on his right shoulder, deciding she would let the tears fall her. on his right shoulder. her shoulder to cry on.
