16. Spooks

This place is awesome! I have no idea why everyone thinks it’s so creepy… Then again, I always wanted a creepy old house so I could scare people. The inside of the house is amazing too.

“CC I’m coming with you!” I call out as a follow him up one of the huge staircases. Andy went up the other one and Jake was left on the ground floor. I look back down at him and give him a little smile. He doesn’t look too pleased about being left alone.

CC and I walk down a hallway in silence as I stare around in awe.

“Leave this man’s sight and I shall show you something interesting.” The demon’s voice echoes.

Depends, what’s your name?

“I’m often called Sullivan; now leave this man’s side.” I look around, there’s another passageway.

“Hey CC,” I call out, “you keep going and I’ll check in here.” I point down the small passageway connecting a few rooms.

He nods. “Yeah sure, just be quick. This place gives me the creeps.”

I turn away and walk to one of the rooms. There’s another small staircase that Sullivan instructs me to go down which leads me back bottom floor. I stand in the middle of the small dusty room.

What are we going to do?

“We,” Sullivan whispers, “are going to have some fun!”

I can’t stop myself from smiling. How did he know that I was finding the search boring?

“Now this is going to hurt a bit.” Suddenly everything goes black and it feels as if I’m being ripped from my body.

I try to scream but no sound comes out. I can’t feel anything, not even my heart beating or my lungs filling with air. Am I still even breathing? The darkness starts to disappear and I can see again. Only thing is, I can see me. I can see my body lying in the centre of the room as if I’m looking down on it. I look down at where my body SHOULD be and see nothing. The fuck is going on? This can’t be real.

“You have left your body and taken the form of a shadow. You can move from shadow to shadow, even walk around as a shadow but you cannot touch anything.”

Wait, is my body still alive? Can I go back to it?

“Your body is dead, but yes you can go back to it which will reanimate it.” Okay, well I guess that kind of makes sense. Sullivan shows me how to move around and it’s easier than I thought it would be though it’s very straining and I become tired quite quickly.

“One of your companions is getting close to your body.” It must be Jake. He’s still on the bottom floor right? “I think you should drive him away.” Well I could try and scare him away… It would be easier than explaining why I’m not in my body.

I find him in the kitchen and let out a little giggle. I know it’s mean to scare him but it’s so funny. CC calls out for me from upstairs and Jake leaves the room. I move to his shadow and follow him. CC and Jake start talking and Andy shouts down from the balcony. Well, I got Jake away and I really should return to my body before the guys start looking for me…

“Why don’t you have some more fun. I can show you a trick or two.” Sullivan purrs. 

Well… I guess while I’m here I might as well do something interesting. Sullivan instructs me as I manage to cover Jake’s eyes in shadows.
