Jake –

If I hadn’t needed to piss I wouldn’t be here right now. I wouldn’t be standing here, watching this weird guy talk at me. That’s what he’s doing of course. He’s not actually talking TO me.

I curse my bladder under my breath and cross my arms, leaning back against the wall. He had literally pulled me back into the bathroom as I was leaving and shouted at me to listen to him. So now, here I am, standing in this unpleasant bathroom listening to this guy talk about the demon. I wonder if this guy is going to explode like that Russian dude… Wow… That feels like years ago now. Yeah… So I’m not really listening to this guy.

“You and your little friends need my help,” he says, twirling his beard around his finger.

“With what?” I ask.

He looks me in the eyes and I squirm uncomfortably. “With finding the statue.”

I nod and gaze down at my boots. “We don’t need any help…”

He snorts. “You really do you know… You have no idea what’s coming…” He shakes his head.

“Oh and I suppose you do?”

“I have a hunch…” He quickly checks to see if there is anyone in here with us, hiding in one of the stalls. “I have a feeling that Phyra is not the only one trying to keep you from the statue.” He says, his shaggy hair flopping in front of his eyes.

“Who else?” I ask, dreading the answer. I think I know what he’s going to say.

“I do not know.”

Huh… So I  didn’t know what he was going to say…

“All I know is that you cannot trust everyone in your little group.”

“Why are you telling me this? Why not leave a cryptic note or something? I have to get back to my friends.”

“I am telling you this in person, because soon, your little buddies are going to find something that they will not be able to read.”

“And…?”

“You will have to read it for them.” He shrugs.

“How is this going to happen?”

He punches me. His fist slams into my eye and I stumble backwards. “WHAT THE FUCK!?”

“Now you can see.” The guy says as if nothing has happened.

My eye is aching. I can feel it getting all puffy. “No, now I CAN’T see out of this eye!” I shout at him and he steps back in surprise.

“But now you will be able to read the map.”

I glance sideways at my reflection in the mirror. Yep, it’s already starting to swell up and bruise… “What map?” I sigh prodding at my eye tentatively. I’m unable to resist poking at a good bruise.

“The map that you will come across shortly.” His eyes show no emotion. He just stands there staring, waiting for me to say something. It feels like an eternity before I cough awkwardly and break the silence.

“So… what do I do?” I ask quietly.

“Find your friends. Read the map. Find the statue and destroy it!” He doesn’t say anything more. Just waves a hand at me, telling me to leave.

I turn and leave the bathroom. I almost walk straight into Jinxx as I round the corner.

“Dude, where the hell have you been?!” He shouts over the loud, booming music, placing his hands on my shoulders and shaking me.
