CORY'S POINT OF VIEW
The first thing I felt when I woke up was fear. The last thing I remember seeing was Ellianna and Oliver both sprinting out of a building, bleeding and Ella laying on the floor totally out of it, But my mind kept on going back to the same thing. It was all my fault.
I sat up in the soft bed for a while just thinking until I heard Madam Pomfrey shuffle through the door, levitating a few trays of food.
"Oh good your up dear." she cooed.
"How long was I out." I asked rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
"Only 12 hours. You were pretty out of it when you got here, but not as much as that poor dear" She said, motioning to were Ella lay sleeping on the bed across the walkway.
She wasn't hurt much except for the knife wound across her cheek, and now that was only a thin scar. I had a feeling Eric had done something to make her the way she was in the alley.
"Now those two should be up soon, but I dont know when Ms. Harper will wake up. Make sure to eat you the food." She said, as she left the room and went to her office.
I was left alone to my thoughts again. It wasn't for about another hour when I heard slight shuffling from Oliver's bed.
"HowlonghaveIbeenasleep" Oliver slurred from the depths of his pillow.
"You really arent a morning person are you?" I asked
"nrghhhh!"
"I will take that as a yes, and you have only been asleep for about 13 hours."
"How are the others?" he asked while untangling himself from the covers."
"both sound asleep" I replied.
"Look, I know what your thinking." Oliver said
"Hm?"
"I know you feel like its your fault. Its not."
"But it is." I said getting out of my bed and walking over to Ella's bed. "Its my fault we were attacked. If I had stood up to my brother or have not have chosen to be friends with you guys in the first place, It could have been avoided and you guys would be safe."
"But we would still be the lonely people we used to be. We are better off friends than we were without each other."
"You guys are in here because of me." I said.
"No we are in here because of your brother. You could not have done anything to stop this."
"I could have fought him." I said brushing a loose hair from Ella's face.
"Yes, you could fight your brother and all his goons and win." He said, very sarcastically.
"Its not your fault. We all had a choice to be friends, you couldn't have done anything to stop him."
There was silence as we just stood there, I looked down at Ella. Her red hair surrounded her face as she slept.
"When we were attacked, I was scared. I knew I had to save Ellianna so I pushed through the fear. I was so worried that I would somehow loose her. I dont know what I would do If I lost her, or any of you guys. That is something the old me never knew. And I never want to loose that feeling." I nodded, knowing exactly how he felt.
We went back to our beds to eat as we waited for the others to wake up. Soon enough, we heard a yawn come from Ellianna's bed.
