// Because of no good excuse, I am bringing up a lot of headcanons this chapter so,, just ignore it if you want. It's not very important to the story, just a fun add-on.

Frisk looked down into the foggy, damp hallway.
No sign of Toriel, anywhere.
It gave him a moment to admire the place. Mossy, decayed bricks. Purple bricks, and a smooth, dirt path, also colored accents of purple.
It gave him a moment to think, too.
Chara was Toriel's child, hence her crying at the moment,

Frisk chose to support his counterpart, lifting up the small girl and hugging her,
Chara was tense,
"What are you doing?" She asked harshly.
Frisk frowned,
"Please, don't fight back. I know it's hard, it'll be okay, I promise." He comforted.

Chara said nothing, but he still had her in the air.
Chara hugged him back, her legs wrapped around his torso/stomach to support her own weight and her arms around his neck/shoulders.
She buried her face in his shoulder and cried.
Cried like a young girl, who had her family taken from them at that moment.

Frisk frowned, hugging her gently.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked quietly.

Chara merely shook her head, and broke free.
Honestly, she was quite cute. What she had been wearing seemed to be oddly formal. It didn't fit her, especially around the chest and hips.
It looked suffocating.
She wore a single flower in her hair, and a golden heart locket, with an upside down white heart in the center. It hadn't been opened for quite awhile.

Frisk frowned, before smiling,
"Are you okay?" He asked softly, resulting in a small nod from the girl.
Chara's cheeks were flushed pink, the tears running down her face causing a slight irritation, as well as embarrassment. She firmly believed the support and love was unnecessary and a waste of time.
Nonetheless, she missed the hug.

"You should go. Toriel will get worried." Chara warned.
Frisk nodded, and began to walk, Chara following close behind.
He decided to chat;
"So, what do you like to do?" He asked
"I like to draw, knit, play piano, and a few other things, not as important." Chara explained.
"Piano, huh? Isn't that hard?" He asked
"Especially being at such a young age."

"Sort of. I taught myself while I was down here, with a really good friend. I did it because, well, it's rather odd.
If you listen hard enough. Not with your ears, but become fully submerged with the environment, then you can hear it.
Music." Chara explained.
"The monsters can't hear it, but every monster has a melody that represents them. Every area has a melody, every action has a melody.
Only the humans and creatures with determination can hear it, but you need to hear it with your heart, and not your ears." Chara tried to explain.

Frisk tried. It didn't work.
"Are you the only one who hears it?" He asked.

"It wasn't just me. For about an hour, my brother could, too... but, that was only for a moment. It just inspired me to pick up piano, I guess." Chara laughed.

Frisk nodded. He didn't exactly believe it.
"Why are you down here?" He asked.

"In what sense?" Chara countered.

"Why did you fall? Didn't you hear what happened to that poor girl? Didn't it scare you?" He asked.

"No. Anything was better than the surface. I was loved here, until my dying moments. I only regret not being able to show them my love in return." Chara sighed.

Soon; Frisk reached the end.
He looked around, and couldn't find Toriel. Before he tried to continue walking, Toriel came out of no where and stopped him,
"Oh, young one. I'm sorry for such a tedious task. The reason, is that I need to return to my home, and leave you here for a little while until I come back. Here is a cell phone to call me on," she handed him a poor quality phone.
"Please, call me if anything goes wrong. I will return shortly," she promised, and left the room.

Frisk, once again, was left alone with his small counterpart.
